Wow! The vid doesn't pull any punches, does it? I think, it speaks to its effectiveness that it made me feel positive things about Ten and Rose when I had huge problems with their relationship the first time I watched season two (I am so due for a New Who rewatch). Thank you for the recommendation!
And yes, it pulls everything together beautifully, highlighting how it all fits, the parallels throughout; so even if Ten/Rose was... well, great for the shippers, if you pull back you see her as one more love, one more loss. I'm currently watching the Classic show, so it's a whole other dimension to see the show through. <3

Saying that the Doctor loved Rose *more* is a fool's errand, because how can you measure that? They're not in competition. (Cue one of my favourite drabbles: "Yeah, I know what an allegory is," said Ace.
And I really need to get my hands on some Classic Who, but this also fills me with a lot of trepidation because there is just so much of it, you know? *flails* I hear ya. I have watched a smattering of episodes from the different eras (quite randomly, so one of Three's episodes was on TV and then someone gave me one of Four's and someone else lent me some from the Five and Six eras...), but what I have found works best is to watch through an era from the start, so you get the rhythm of it and the ongoing arc/story development etc. I watched all of Seven, which is (in tone and view) far closer to New Who than you would think - generally good diversity and writing, smart stories (a few of the early ones are a bit wobbly, but the later ones are some of the best of the show, ever), and a very tricksy Doctor who reminds me of Eleven. I'm now watching Six and I love him. He's a bit Twelve-like (a bit blunt & very confident), but without any of the angst. And it wonderful to find out all the history. <3
One of my friends has just watched through all of Four - someone of it was less great than other stuff, but once you get into the right headspace you forget about all the bad special effects and just watch for the stories & the characters.

Oh - although most (probably all) of Classic Who is on Daily Motion. There are ads, the quality is sometimes not amazing, but it's free. :)

Although I love lots of fanvids, only a few can bring tears to my eyes. This one did, even with the Tenth Doctor, of whom I'm less than enamored. It works because it's about the Doctor, not the Doctors. But, oh, my Twelve ... oh, my Eleven and my Nine ... and the tears started as She ran to the TARDIS.

This is very lovely and has some wonderful parallels but...where is Martha? :( I know Martha’s story is the exception to so many of the New Who narratives (she has two living parents! She has siblings! She doesn’t have the greatest time ever in the TARDIS and she chooses to leave before she’s pushed! She’s not connected to the Doctor by some sort of Special Destiny, etc) but I am still always suspicious of vids that conspicuously leave her out.

Wow. I particularly appreciated the pairing of Donna saying "Rest of my life, travelling in the TARDIS" with Clara declaring "These have been the best years of my life and they are MINE", that was the riposte I waited so long for and Moff finally gave it to me. Also the pairing of Amy voluntarily giving up the Doctor to Rose beating on the wall and sobbing, having her choice taken away from her.
