Birthday post

Hello all.

I *think* I have managed to reply to all posts/messages. (If I have missed anyone, please let me know!)

Had a very lovely day yesterday - we went down to Cambridge to see Miss M, so after a lovely breakfast & opening cards/presents we were out of the door a little after 9am.

After having a wander around the town (and buying a couple of things) we went and had a picnic lunch which Darcy had prepared earlier. (As it was a cold and windy day, we had the picnic in Miss M's room.)

We then went to the Botanical Gardens, where it was Apple Day (the_royal_anna will know which this was a particular draw), but it was interesting (and very pretty) apart from that.

Had a nice 'tea' from Dominos and then set off back home. But twas a lovely day, with all my girls. ♥

And then this afternoon one of my oldest childhood friends came to visit with husband and children. The children are 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 and adorable, so it was a very nice afternoon. :)

Darcy got me some very nice headphones (I've never had any that were just mine I don't think...), and Miss M had bought me a pretty necklace (♥), but overall my presents were books (I had a wish list and everything):

And then I bought Why Mummy Drinks by Gill Sims (of the Peter and Jane and Mummy Too facebook fame) for myself, and it is so far hilarious and entirely too relateable!

Am also watching Victoria, but way behind (tend to watch episodes a day or two before the disappear off ITVPlayer). However it keeps being as wonderful as before, and honestly I could watch them forever. (Just watched the one where they go to France, so no spoilers beyond that please.)

Also watching The Good Place and have started on iZombie on Netflix (Dr Ravi is my new favourite everything). Not that they aren't all brilliant, and it does so many things I appreciate. <3

And that's all for now, should probably go interact with the world, even if most of my friends live in my computer. Thank you all for just being you. ♥

Well, 'Why Mummy Drinks' is hilarious and Trevor Noah's memoirs are brilliant too (and also v funny, despite the subject matter). I have read all the Ta-Nehisi essays already (online) but wanted them anyway. And Hillary - well, dammit, I wanted to read that!

I think it's HILARIOUS. All those man babies (which, lets be fair, are mostly middle aged white guys) throwing a hissy fit that the Doctor has boobies now, GET TO BE THE COMPANION! It amazing. PLUS moar wimmins & all the rest are POC. S genius. :D

I think so? Like, only occasionally, but she was on the list.

I know she was named but I don't think the part she was playing was actually specified, which makes me wonder if she might be playing something/someone else.

It just says 'Sharon D Clarke in a returning role', so she might be someone Vastra or Ashildr like? Or maybe she will be boy companion's mother? Rose's mother certainly fitted 'a returning role'.

Thanks for the companion update; my new job (and longer workday) has me so busy I barely have time to read news-news, let alone popular culture news. : 0 I'm so happy to see the return to a multiple companion format--having started watching DW with the Hartnell episodes, a four-person Team Tardis is kind of my default "normal" setting. : )
