So, I've not mentioned the whole tjlc thing* (because there are far more important things in the world right now!), even though I have been rather appalled at how they (at least some of them) have been hounding Moffat & Gatiss (and Moffat & Gatiss are too polite to bite back a la RTD's 'Go watch Supernatural!').

But then I came across this today on Tumblr, and I am just charmed and delighted that this is a real thing and had to share:

*If you haven't heard of this, consider yourself lucky. Don't ask, just go read what looks like a brilliant book

I had never heard of this either!!!!!!! OMG, thank you so much for telling us, I can't believe one of my favourite screenwriters and men in general has written a book with a BISEXUAL leading character!!!!!!!! Oh god, this makes want to cry with joy, I'm so happy to have discovered this, thank you!!

I will note that the character in question is self-consciously hedonistic, which is not what I'm looking for when feeling sensitive on the subject of bi representation/erasure. But the trilogy is great, and bisexualbooks @ tumblr helps.

Thank you for this - I never knew about it until now :DDD

I remember it being the same with RTD after he killed Ianto. I was devastated at that decision too, but c'mon at all of the openly straight women accusing a gay man of homophobia, simply because he sunk their ship

That trilogy is great! I will note that the dude in question is self-consciously hedonistic, which is not what I'm looking for when feeling sensitive on the subject of bi representation/erasure. But it's a solid point and god knows fans hounding them is horrible.

Yeah. I mean it's a huge deal just to have a bi main character - he's the second I've read EVER and I've been a bookworm all my life. And it's one of those things that's dodgy because of the lack of other bi characters who don't fit that stereotype to counteract it, rather than in itself, I think. But I wanted to note it if the books are being thought of as a safe place to land for queer fans saddened by how Sherlock ended up.

I will never have any patience for this sort of thing. If it was happening to me I'd be crying under a table.
