In case anyone's interested, I wrote about Chosen on Friday.

And yesterday I watched Torchwood. *sigh* It had a few good moments, but mostly I was incredibly annoyed with what they did with Ianto. I'd imagined him to be the 'butler' of the operation - stoic and understated, with a repressed crush on Jack and maybe a background history of some tragedy (f.ex. his wife was killed by aliens or some such, hence his work for Torchwood).

Alas. Instead he was so blinded by 'love' that he turned into a complete moron. Reminded me a bit of what's-her-name from 'Beauty and the Beasts' who ended up being killed by her boyfriend. Except Ianto *wasn't* killed, and - even worse - he didn't kill Lisa. That is a choice he should have had to make, dammit.

See Owen is apparently a bit of a jerk - but he's quite an interesting jerk, so I'm happy to see what they do with him. But they're going to have to do something *spectacular* to make me care about Ianto now.

*sigh*

Except for Ianto and Lisa I rather liked it though. Would write more, but have run out of time...

I hated the whole cyberwoman storyline. There were some good moments in it, though. My least favourite episode so far.

I thought Torchwood was total bollocks from start to finish but never mind. I suppose it passes the time.

It does that. And to be fair there's a good few episodes of S1 of AtS that are *not* much better!

Have to disagree with that. Even the worst ever episode of AtS from season 1, She, had the priceless Cordy's party sequence in it.

I think I've worked it out - Torchwood is a show to watch for the fandom. Just consider this comment:

"It involves alien-hunting and a cyborg fighting a pterodactyl, and I am quite, quite certain that every single pairing is canon. Just watch an episode, pick any two of the main characters, and I can pretty much assure you that it's either canon or will be canon in the near future. It's just a fanfic-writer's dream."

I think that's a fair summary. Watch. Laugh. Write Jack/Hand crack fic. Never think too deeply! *g*

I suppose so. My trouble is, I can't suspend my critical faculty - or at least, not for long. I can get through one episode thinking, okay, this is so lame it's actually enjoyable but that's it. After that, I want more.
