elisi: Edwin holding a tiny snowman (sell my children by eyesthatslay)

*headdesk*

Someone help me through the rest of the day!

Please?

It's half term. It's raining. The girls (+ one from next door) are drawing and being supremely silly (a LOT of rude versions of 'How much is that doggie in the window?' I fled.) and giggling like maniacs. A moment ago Little Miss M (7) came to tell me that Impish Girl (5) was throwing beads around. Came down to find her holding up the largest bead she could find, proudly annoucing: "Yeah, but you don't have this bead! It makes me the Queen of Chinese!"

???????

[beat]

And now the baby woke up.

I love my children, but just sometimes...

Aww! I don't know how you do it. I'd've hit the gin ages ago.

"Yeah, but you don't have this bead! It makes me the Queen of Chinese!"
I had no idea! *bows before her*

Tell me about it!! It's been OK up until today as the weather has been dry and I've sent them outside to play on their bikes. Don't quite like to do that in the rain though, so today was rather difficult. Still they are in bed now, and TORCHWOOD. Right Now!

You could always try The Quiet Game where you hold a competition to see which child can be quiet and still the longest. Used to work a treat with my nieces *eg*.
