So many links, I'm gonna put them under a cut...
Vox: It’s time to admit Hillary Clinton is an extraordinarily talented politician
She's just good at politics in a way we haven't learned to appreciate.
[...]
Perhaps that's why we don't appreciate Clinton's strengths as a candidate. She's winning a process that evolved to showcase stereotypically male traits using a stereotypically female strategy.
And it's working.
[...]
But another way to look at the primary is that Clinton employed a less masculine strategy to win. She won the Democratic primary by spending years slowly, assiduously, building relationships with the entire Democratic Party. She relied on a more traditionally female approach to leadership: creating coalitions, finding common ground, and winning over allies. Today, 208 members of Congress have endorsed Clinton; only eight have endorsed Sanders.
This work is a grind — it's not big speeches, it doesn't come with wide applause, and it requires an emotional toughness most human beings can't summon.
The Week: The true grit of Hillary Clinton
The crushing sexism of young Hillary Clinton's America
Twitter: We didn’t know where Hillary’s votes were coming from bc they didn’t feel it was safe to tell us in the first place (This makes me both sad and angry. But I am not surprised.)
All this reminds me of this story, which I shared a few months ago: Election year sexism against Hillary Clinton brought me closer to my mother (For years I thought of my mother as a pathetic figure who had turned her back on feminism – until I saw the scorn heaped upon Clinton and realized my mom was a victim of her time)
And The Onion: Elderly Voter Never Thought She’d Get To See Female Presidential Nominee Called Heartless Ice Bitch During Her Lifetime
I'm glad Bernie has dropped out. I liked him, he helped move Clinton left, but he'd never win (x, x and x), and defeating Donald Trump is far more important. And for anyone who says that Hillary & Trump are as bad as each other... Well.
You should also watch Grace (What these two ads do so very beautifully is that they use Trump's own words to condemn him.)
Plus this: USA TODAY exclusive: Hundreds allege Donald Trump doesn’t pay his bills (Donald Trump casts himself as a protector of workers and jobs, but a USA TODAY NETWORK investigation found hundreds of people – carpenters, dishwashers, painters, even his own lawyers – who say he didn’t pay them for their work.)
And there's this depressing news story: 'You were born in a Taco Bell': Trump's rhetoric fuels school bullies across US (The Guardian.)
Also, crazily, Trump Donald Trump just said policy won’t matter in this election (Washington Post)
I'm still trying to get over this.
“Hillary’s campaign is crazy,” [Trump] continued. “I look at her staffing, and I mean she’s got the United States government there.” He even mocks her focus on putting out so many policy proposals, a longtime tradition for major party nominees. “She’s got people that sit in cubicles writing policy all day. Nothing’s ever going to happen. It’s just a waste of paper.” (The Clinton campaign counts that paper as a point of pride: 73,645 words of policy and counting.)…
There is also the ongoing saga of Trump's refusal to release his tax returns, which has made the Dems set up a website (x):
https://taxesbytrump.com/
(Go on, have a look!)
Also fun (and more indepth, obvs.) is the Trump Lies website. (There is even Donald Trump lying to the entirety of Mozart's Symphony No 41.)
Or if you fancy a fantastical novel dealing with all this, you could try Kim Kardashian Saves The World (After President Trump Nearly Ends It) (America’s first reality TV President faces a nuclear crisis only an even bigger reality TV star can solve. )
And finally - Elizabeth Warren! ♥
Warren’s American Constitution Society Speech Previews Democrat Attacks on Trump
I think I may fangirl this woman rather a lot. (Watch the whole video, seriously.) And am desperately hoping that Clinton will choose her to be her running mate. TWO WOMEN!!! Just imagine. Plz Hillary, go all in.
ETA: OK, couldn't not add this...
Trump in Richmond: "Pocahontas is not happy. You know, Pocahontas, I’m doing such a disservice to Pocahontas, it’s not fair."
— Betsy Klein (@betsy_klein) June 11, 2016
Trump: "By the way, I am the least racist person, the least racist person that you ever saw. Give me a break."
— Betsy Klein (@betsy_klein) June 11, 2016
'Least racist person!'

As you presumably know, even Paul Ryan (who just endorsed Trump...) called Trump's remarks re. Judge Curiel 'Textbook racism'.
Republicans' strategy for dealing with their presidential nominee's tirades is to talk about him like he is a literal child.

Anyway - Pocahontas for VP!! :)
And finally, you can download 'The Hunting of Hillary' here for FREE. ('Learn the true history of the “vast right-wing conspiracy” — as Hillary Clinton herself once described it.' Hillary is obviously deeply flawed in many ways, but like I've said before - the Hillary haters remind me of the Moffat haters. The hate gets in the way of the facts. And of course, the fact that she's a woman taps into all the prejudices that are still unfortunately alive and well. See above.)
Oh and if you want to know what she actually wants to do: Hillary’s vision for America, and key policies she will fight for as president. (The one thing that comes across whenever I hear her interviewed is that she's all about action. 'This is a problem, here is how I propose to solve it.' (Including the background/history, previous policy and how that's worked, how it should be tackled in the future. Like some sort of encyclopedia with vision and a plan.)
ETA: How could I forget???
Listen To Hillary Clinton’s Interview With BuzzFeed
That’s right, Hillary hung out with BuzzFeed — and it’s not your typical interview. With the hosts of BuzzFeed’s boozy and culture-savvy Another Round podcast at the helm, we didn’t pull any punches. We asked her about everything from how she’s dealt with sexism in Washington to her opinions on the characters from The Good Wife, and even got the scoop on why she never seems to be sweating. (“You guys are the first to realize that I’m really not even a human being. I was constructed in a garage in Palo Alto.”)

Not that she'll have an easy ride as President, but once she's elected she can just get on with it, which is what she wants to do.
Every time she is asked about something or other, he reply turns to 'This is what we need to DO!'
So practical, so focussed, so ready to get stuff done, rather than just talk.

I started to watch that video on the Trump Lies website and couldn't make it all the way through - looking at, and hearing that man speak, makes me violently ill at this point.
Warren's takedowns of him are brilliant!

It just came to me as the perfect reply...

Yeah, I watched about 3 minutes, but I'm the same. He's so unpleasant & offputting that I can't bear to even listen. Warren OTOH I want to listen to all day. <3

So do we all... <3
I'm sad to hear that Sanders dropped out (I was rooting for him)
I'm slightly confused as to what exactly he's doing to be honest, as he's said that he'll keep going AND that he'll support Hillary. But I think the second one followed the first... And he can't win, he never had the numbers. I liked his ideas, but I think Hillary will get stuff done far more than he would be able to.
*hugs back*

Bernie is still part of the Senate...and he gets a lot done there. I'm hoping that is a trend that will continue.
:D

As if I'd ever throw anything at you!!!
Although I get what you're saying, and it's depressing that the people who should be helping each other tend to fight. Hillary & Bernie voted the same way 93% of the time, which is probably more than agreement than your average marriage manages.

I can't imagine that Hillary won't offer him a job.

Very true. *nods* A lot of their goals and wants for this country and our people are in alignment. That's a big plus! I have some issues (as I've said) with Mrs Clinton, but they are my own - and I guess that is what makes being human a good thing. We all see things slightly differently..but when we come together for the greater good - that is what counts in the end!
I hope she will. Despite the press and it's typical !@#$ stirring, I've seen that those two get along quite well. It would be a shame for anyone to waste his bulldoggish talent for getting things done...I'm sure she won't make that mistake!

As are you! (Not that I'd throw things at anyone.)

And defeating Trump is more important than anything else.

No, she's immensely practical. And she's never gone negative on him throughout the Primaries, because she knows she needs him. So here's to hoping they work things out! :)

THIS. OMG, I FEAR that man!
I saw that and appreciated it. There is no need for mud-slinging. They both know the Dems all need to pull together - and they kept it together for that and many other reasons. Just because they do not 100% agree does not mean they disagree completely..and the over-all aim is the same in the end!
