Just a quick thank you post to all you lovely people who have brightened my day with messages, posts & comments. ♥
Have had a very very nice day indeed, and will try to write a proper post tomorrow.
Apart from presents & family party, I also found time to watch the first episode of Class...
If something premiers on my birthday, I consider it a personal present. Esp. if it's a Doctor Who spin-off - see Torchwood, which also showed its first episodes on my birthday - TEN YEARS AGO. Damn, that makes me feel ANCIENT.
Anyway, Class has a much surer grip on what its mission is and what kind of show it is. (I adore Torchwood, but S1 was well rocky. *pets it*)
Anyway - recommended. And thank you again!

I'm interested to see where Class goes, though.

Very true. Class - thankfully - manages to be more adult than Dr Who without jumping up & down and going 'LOOK HOW EDGY WE ARE!!!'
though I still have a soft spot for Small Worlds and Captain Jack Harkness
I have a MASSIVE soft spot for S1 - 2 of Torchwood. It was just... over the top and ~fabulous~ and all the things.
I'm interested to see where Class goes, though.
Me too. I watched ep 1 and wanted MORE. (Started ep 2 but do need to get to bed...) This is a good sign.

I think RTD had issues trying to commission Torchwood and how it was to be written.
I didn't like Gwen much and she was suppose to be the "heart" of Torchwood.

Oh aye. I was more Chibnall's baby. (I hope certain things filter through to his Doctor Who - like Everyone Is Bisexual!)
I didn't like Gwen much and she was suppose to be the "heart" of Torchwood.
She was in many ways Rose Mark II. Except she made Amy's choices. MY darling was Ianto, and I truly believe that when he died, so did the soul of the show.

(Wow, what's with this synchronicity with Phoenixdragon? Somebody call Carl Jung, there are no coincidences! My wishes to her too.)
