I don't think he hired her ONLY because she was black. But they probably went looking for black actors in particular, because with ordinary open auditions you don't get accurate representation.

And yeah, she's v. cool - hints of Ace. People are hoping she might be from the 90s!

I'm not saying I believe it. The comments in the article brought it up. Considering their attitude towards the show, I'm not going to take their word for it.

Maybe she might take to a baseball bat to a Dalek like Ace did.:)
