I just realized that my "laughing" icon probably sounded/felt mean, and I didn't mean that. I'm just tickled to see a Pern fic, and amused at the crackiness of a Pern/Buffy!verse crossover. And, it being you doing the writing, it was a good cracky Pern/Buffy!verse crossover. Heh....
A friend is a big Pern fan, so I knew a bit about the books. They are quite distinctive.
But I can totally picture Buffy as a dragon, somehow. *beams* I was very pleased with that!
I need a better balance in my 'should' pile -- I tend to read fanfic for diversion and Serious Stuff or Literature for books, and that's silly. I just need time...
... Well, as Buffy is his dragon, she is his one true and forever love. Angel is useful. Buffy is his soulmate, and if she died he'd probably commit suicide.
I remember when you posted that and, I'm sad to to admit, I didn't ever read it because it just seemed entirely too cracktastic an idea. Now I'm kicking myself, because that worked surprisingly well! And sort of made me want to know what happened next...
Confession time: Pern was one of my early fandoms along with Doctor Who. I even belonged to the official fan club back in the mid-80s, assigned to Telgar Weyr (I had a brown dragon named Tath) (Yes, I really have always been this geeky).
ICON!!!! (That is my favourite cover of all of them! ♥)

Heeee! And hey, I can understand the caution - it's quality crack. (This is of course also the selling point. *g*) Very happy I won you over. :)
And sort of made me want to know what happened next... This snippet here.
Confession time: Pern was one of my early fandoms along with Doctor Who. I think that's... fairly normal? Certainly the whole idea of telepathic dragons is something that just captures people. (My mother owns allll the books - I introduced her, and as she loves animals she was sold in no time at all.)

I loved the Pern series as a young woman, especially the first two (and possibly the third and fourth as well); the idea of Buffieth ... Oh. My.

And then, many years later, this plot bunny hopped into my head and it was a very happy day. :D

(And yes, you should. Although I am far too familiar with 'should'. *looks at book pile next to bed*)

I can't even remember why I thought of it. But I suddenly wanted to share...
Sad to see so many names in the comments who are no longer around on LJ though. :-(
This. I tried not to look. :(
