Just got back from seeing it, and HOLY FUCKING SHIT was that good. Absolutely relentless action that reeked a lot more of petrol than CGI, and with both a heart and a brain as well.

When I first saw reports like this one on MRAs going nuts over how EEEEVIL FEMINAZI this movie was, I was a bit worried (as in, do we define movies as feminist now just because the American taliban dislike them?) but yeah, the crybabies do have a point in the best way. They should feel kicked in the balls by this movie.

Coooool. I read some of the youtube comments for the trailer (yes I know!) and there were a few from people who'd been to previews and they were all blown away. I am VERY TEMPTED.

Wow. That's... quite something. (I've explained it to Miss M, and she's going "Awww, poor Mennists, are they being oppressed?" in her best faux-concerned voice.)

I'd say it definitely helps add some weight to some of it, but it's not necessary to get the worldbuilding or overall plot. (Though seeing Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior is always recommended if one can stand Mel Gibson.)
