Random update.
I know I've not been around much... Well, I've been reading my flist, but not really posting. Mostly I'm blaming January being January. I just want hibernate. Also I know I should be working on my 'Last Christmas' meta, except my brain has shut down completely and isn't co-operating. (I rewatched it, and it's a beautiful, wonderful, episode, I just can't get my head booted into whatever gear it needs to be in.)
Instead I'm working on something that's pretty much original fic - it's attached to my Alex 'verse by a thread, but you would not need to know anything about it (or even Doctor Who) to read it. It's about a boy called George and is basically a coming-out story. Still very much a WIP, but might try to start posting when I've pulled things together a little more.
In other news my parents are arriving this evening, so I have spent ALL DAY tidying/cleaning, and it's paying off nicely. But I shall be even more scarce next week.
kerkevik_2014 pointed me towards this vidder (
maidavids on LJ). Have only checked out a couple of vids so far, but they look very nice.
Am also feeling a bit... morose? Melancholy? The Dish is closing down. I first found it in 2008, in the run-up to Obama's election, and it's been my go-to place for US politics/general news/thoughts on everything and anything. It'll leave a huge gap in my online life.
OK, must go continue cleaning, even though I'm sure there was something else I was going to say. Oh yes, meme (via my flist):
Not sure when I'd get time to reply, but will certainly do my best! :)

Ask me a question about one of my fics. It can be absolutely anything in any project and I will answer it the best I can -- even on current progress/plans.
If you'd prefer, you can also ask about my writing for a particular fandom, my writing as a whole, etc.
Not sure when I'd get time to reply, but will certainly do my best! :)

I'm also thrilled that you are writing something original and enjoying the hell out of yourself!!
And yay for chores being done! Whoot!!
Arrrghhh!! So many good sites are shutting down. Makes me sad to hear it!!
And yay meme!! I want to know - how far will we follow Alex's future? And will we ever see the prophecy as it has been laid down?
*HUGS*

See I'm always here, sometimes I just don't say a lot... And not 'getting down' as such, just... Not a lot of energy. (I was going to say, compared to your January, mine has been a stroll in the park.)

It's THE most fun. And they're SO ADORABLE. *pets them* You've been writing too, I've seen. Yay for plot bunnies. :)

Nnnnnearly done.

Well he's been blogging for 13 or 15 years straight, pretty much. I can understand why. But it still makes me sad - it's an institution. But the actual blog will stay, so it'll be this vast amazing archive.
And yay meme!! I want to know - how far will we follow Alex's future? And will we ever see the prophecy as it has been laid down?
Well so far I've planned up to (and including) 4th Seeker, so several centuries into the future. And yes, we'll see the prophecy unfold (although maybe not like you expect *g*).
I need to get George out of my system, and then write the stories of the Seeker's journeys into parellel universes, and THEN write what happens next.
Hope you're doing OK, and good luck with school & jobs & everything. ♥

But yay for original writing, and for a clean house, not to mention parents!

I think it's because it's such a personal blog... He put so much of himself into it, there's nothing else like it. Nor anything with such a wide remit. (I think that's the right word...)
But yay for original writing, and for a clean house, not to mention parents!
More-or-less original. Still attached, but only just. (Don't mind it being attached, as I'm having a blast writing it.) And I love it when the house is tidy - and this week will be nice and busy. Monday is my mother's birthday (so we're going out), and Wednesday we're gong to see Impish Girl in the school production of Grease. LOTS OF FAMILY STUFF!

Your story sounds very interesting! :) Not sure what to ask about the meme. I want to know if you're planning to include River or Missy more but I'm assuming canon events will influence that ;P What character do you find easiest to write? And hardest? Which POV do you most enjoy?

It's dark and cold and it saps all my energy. I like it when I don't have to worry about a coat.
Your story sounds very interesting! :)
Thank you. (The characters - George esp - are ADORABLE. I draw giant hearts around them.)

Hmmmm. I've written a fair few River-y stories already, so not sure. Have done that one tiny thing with Missy and have a very silly thing sort-of planned, but not written. Might do more with Missy, dunno. Like you said, that depends. River... Hm. If there's a story that needs her, yes absolutely. I love River.

Criminy. Um. Dunno. Depends on the story and the context. Although I am (somewhat worryingly) good at writing characters like the Master. 'Hardest' doesn't really apply in that way, I don't think. Well, some characters don't really speak to me much, but if they don't, then I don't write them. And which POV? Well I do have a weakness from viewing established characters from an outsider's POV, so that would be one answer... (Might come back to this later.)

Same here—well, coats I don't mind, but I hate being cold :/

Yes, it depends a lot, doesn't it? And different POV's on characters we know well are certainly fascinating to explore :D

I have plenty lined up. The problem is time.

Oh god, yes. Mind you, France has had much milder weather in the past week and god, I feel like I'm living again. Hope that some is or will be heading your way too!
