A random collection of links & stuff.
I've been collecting tabs...
The Master isn’t changed.
Tumblr gif set. Spoilers for the S8 DW finale.
Handles.
Also a Tumblr gif set. Also spoilers for S8 DW finale.
I hope I don't get in trouble for posting this link, but... One of the Moffat-haters posted their idea for an 'improved' version of Kill the Moon. Kudos to them for actually putting their money where their mouth is, but even so Phil Sandifer couldn't help but tearing their outline apart. (I'm actually reminded a little of Moffat shouting at people who dismiss 'Smith and Jones', pointing out how good it is.)
~~~
And in the 'real', un-fannish world:
Email of the Day from the Dish. Know hope.
Finally, the part where you have to do something:
PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION to call for THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION to unilaterally suspend the introduction of the new EU VAT laws for micro businesses and sole-traders, which if allowed to come into force will unfairly disadvantage the EU’s smallest businesses.
(For a simple, and very harsh, illustration of what this means, go to this post.)
ETA: Oh and today's happy brainwave:
Sue Perkins for Thirteen, anyone? (Picture chosen specifically as she looks like a cross between Ten & Clara. ♥)
ETA: She could do actual conducting at the Doctor Who Proms!!!
(In August and September 2008, Sue Perkins appeared in the reality television series Maestro on BBC Two. During the series, a group of eight celebrities attempted (until eliminated) to learn to conduct orchestral, choral and operatic music. During the series, Perkins conducted three pieces, two of them with soprano soloist Lesley Garrett. Perkins went on to win the series.)
I still want Drunken Irish Thirteen, but I'm on board with that too - if nothing else, she's easily as qualified as Capaldi. ;)
And LOL to that. Thank you. :)
She is unnaturally adorable.
It is truly great and is now my headcanon. Must rewatch.
She is unnaturally adorable.
Someone on Tumblr came up with 'Sue Perkins is my spirit animal'.
I watched her Mekong travel show and she does gab enough.
Well she and Mel started out in the Cambridge Footlights (like almost every other British comedy duo, ever), so I presume she can act. I'm now trying to think of anything she has acted in, as opposed to presented... (Wiki here. And yes, she's done acting, including her own sitcom. Dunno about anything weightier, but look at Catherine Tate - she might just need something proper to sink her teeth into, acting-wise.)
I watched her Mekong travel show and she does gab enough.
I was going to watch that and... never got round to it.
. . . . The British are weird.
However, her facial expressions in that are amazing.
I ended up signing up for a VPN so I could watch the last couple Doctor Who eps live on iPlayer and then felt like I should get my money's worth for it. The show was good. I mean, it was no No Reservations. But few things are.
Not sure why you're picking on THIS example. It was a very good reality TV concept thing.
However, her facial expressions in that are amazing.
Imagine that at the Doctor Who Proms. With her as the Doctor. Possibly wearing a fez.
I have not heard of No Reservations (I don't think), but she's Sue Perkins, so... it had to be engaging and charming. (She and Mel presented The Great British Bake-Off and were wonderful! ♥) And I remember them, going all the way back to Late Lunch. I think that was their first TV thing. A sort of chat show, at lunch time, and the audience brought packed lunches to eat while they watched. <3
Thing is, I get a lot of praise for the complexity of Blink, and quite bloody right too. But because I know what I'm talking about, I can tell you as a matter of FACT, that Smith And Jones is WAY more complex. But because Blink wears its complexity on its sleeve, cos that was kind of the point, Smith And Jones conceals it, cos it's a means to an end.
Really and truly, Smith And Jones, go study. And if you don't think it's brilliant, shut up until you understand that it is.'
(From this post of Moffat quotes.)
