(And I knew how it ended ANYWAY, but was still terribly excited. Because it's one thing to know A and B will happen, and something entirely different to actually read it.)
There is such a difference when betaing and reading for pleasure, I'll agree. You may know the content, but you are looking for things that need tightening, mis-spellings, etc, etc. Tis completely different once it has been posted and the you read the final results!
Well I wasn't being quite clear - as we co-author & plan stuff way in advance, I've known how Galimaufrey would end before she even started writing. But the difference between knowing as sketched outline, and reading the actual story is... *flailyhands*
LOL!! I have noticed a lot of your stuff is co-author. So I guess you all would have the finer details settled long before the fictions are even written. But yes, actual WORDS..well, that's a whole 'nother ballgame, lol!!
Wait. You mean, flailing ISN'T a standard part of beta? *Giggles* I know exactly what you mean, lovie.

Although we also keep certain parts secret... But this, and what comes next, is mostly known to me. (What happens next one will be mostly written by me.)

Wait. You mean, flailing ISN'T a standard part of beta? *Giggles* I know exactly what you mean, lovie. No, I mean literally making comments along the lines of 'This is amazing' or 'meeps', rather than 'You've used the same phrase twice in this paragraph'. Just couldn't help myself. :)
I had a beta tell me once that sentences were not mini-buses (still have that problem, but I digress); she then turned around and flailed all throughout the rest of the fiction. One of the most memorable statements was 'I love this so hard I could barf cupcakes!! OMG!'
After I was finished laughing, I stopped to think it through. There was more squee than correction - and when I beta (poorly) that's usually what happens with me. More squee than correction, lol!

And in this case there was not a lot to fix, to be honest, except little typos etc - the complicated bits (tone, continuity, characterisation etc) was all spot-on. So I allowed myself to indulge. :)
Isn't it? *Beams* I'll remember that when I'm 80. Maybe not what it was about or why - but that is just the kind of thing that sticks in your mind. *Laughs*
Well, you two rather rock hard, lol!! I can easily see where there was little to fix (but plenty to get excited about). You are both...just that awesome. *Nods* And who can resist a good squee (and why should they?!)

And who can resist a good squee (and why should they?!) Indeed.
Oh hurrah! Just in from frighteningly good concert at end of terribly draining week and headed straight for sleep, but will check this out first thing in the morning. (And should clearly be following the_redjay so I pick up updates like this automatically, but since I wasn’t yet, thanks for the update!)

Half my betaing was just flailing.
