Update

Hello there. Actual update thing under the cut...

- Operation Clean All The Things is... going pretty well. Going back to work Monday, but have tidied all rooms except for two bedrooms (am working on one, but it's a big job... SO MANY TOYS). And the rest of the house is BEAUTIFUL. The kitchen looks like it belongs in someone else's house. (The cupboards still needs sorting, but at least the rest is OK. And it's sort of Darcy's area as he's the chef.)

- Saturday we went round to the in-laws and saw b-i-l's slideshow/video from his stint at the South Pole. (The girls were slightly incredulous. "Like they do in the movies/on TV shows? But for real?" *g*) ALL THE FAMILY were there (Darcy has four siblings, 3 of them married w/kids) and there were children EVERYWHERE (10 grandkids now, age between 7 months and 15 years), and a barbeque in the garden. LOVELY day. <3

- Easter Monday we went to Gawthorpe to watch The World Coal-Carrying Championships. It was lovely and sunny, there was a hotdog/curry stand and a brass band and I was slightly worried I'd end up sprouting a flat cap. *g*

- Yesterday Miss M had four of her crazy friends sleeping over (yes we slept 5 teenagers on 3 mattresses - no idea how they fitted, but they didn't complain). These are the crazy Doctor Who fan girls, who have their own little AU/RPG all based around Day of the Doctor. (ETA: Example - Hurt!Doctor is married to a teacup called Helena. I didn't call them 'crazy' for nothing.) I had to put out the Cyberman & the Doctor big cutouts [that I drew/created some years ago for the summer fair for the local community centre] for when they arrived. (Our neighbours must think we are insane...) One of them brought the DVD of Frozen (which I might have forgotten to mention that we finally saw in the cinema a few weeks ago), so we pulled out our projector and they happily watched that, singing along with most of the songs. Before & after they watched Doctor Who & Sherlock on the TV. Really they were no bother at all - today they were even very quiet as they spent a lot of time 'talking' to each other on Facebook with their phones.

- Have UTTERLY failed to write fic/meta. Have good drafts of both, but they've been completely uncooperative. (But I DID redo my LJ layout to be spring-time-y.)

- Have however begun to get to grips with typology, and in case anyone's interested I am an INFJ. (Like Clara. This is very unusual, I have NEVER had an avatar on TV before.)

- Watched the first episode of Fargo and liked it.

- Speaking of Frozen, two links for you:

It's Not Just Frozen: Most Disney Movies Are Pro-Gay

Does It Matter If the Heroine of 'Brave' Is Gay? (No, but it matters that she could be.)

Now there's a challenge to scare my hair platinum white! Create a Female Doctor Who and then run it by that lot...

Is that an earthquake?

Or am I that scared, and thrilled, by the prospect.

Hard to tell.

:-)
