Eurovision 2013
I didn't watch the show live last night, as I was ded from Doctor Who. (Am still trying to gather myself.)
However thanks to the magic of replay I watched Eurovision today (and could skip all the dull songs & the voting!), and here are my highlights:
The one that was Too Good (Netherlands)
The performance that was just completely crazy (Romania)
The completely silly one (Greece)
The runner up (Azerbaijan)
The winner (Denmark)
And then the interval act (well one of them), which was just... outstanding! If you want to know about Sweden, and how they see themselves - or you just want a laugh - watch!

I love Petra Mede, but I really hope at least some of the people watching got the satire in that.
And yes, I include my countrymen in that.
(ETA: Not you though. Just to clarify: there was a pretty big ruckus after we won last year, when our local pseudo-fascist We Hate Brown People Let's All Wear Traditional Clothing And Shoo The Women Back In The Kitchen party got their kneesocks in a twist about the fact that an immigrant sang Sweden's winning song. This is dripping with irony.)

Although - as Graham Norton said - there's probably a good few people in, say, the eastern European countries, who are scratching their heads... *g*
Re. your ETA - I see. Which makes me I love it even more!

I'm not sure if that was part of the broadcast or not. (And yes, that's the actual prime minister at the end.)

(Love Sweden, have visited three times - when I was young and had no children...)
