First, we watched the finale of 'House' last night...

Must re-watch, because that was a fabulous episode! About halfway through, Darcy remarked: "Maybe this is his purgatory?" which I think is an excellent description. :) No sure when I twigged that the *whole thing* was an illusion, but it was somewhere around the time he began walking again. 'Popping' Cameron's button made me sure. :) (treacle_a you must have been in heaven! *g*)






In other news, Arbitrar of Quality is now up to Crush (or "For our next experiment, we'll play latter-day Mozart at Spike and see if it makes him jump out a window")

Go read, he has a lot of good thoughts. In his review of 'Blood Ties' he commented on the growing friendship vibe between Buffy and Spike and said he liked it. As for this ep, here's his musings on the 'ship:

It turns out that Buffy was right all along: the chip doesn't represent true change. She, and we, end up more totally convinced than before that Spike is incapable of real love. And the episode makes a strong case for the fact that, "shippers" be damned, a Buffy/Spike relationship cannot happen under the present circumstances. Period. Let's hope the show sticks to it.

Notice the way I phrased the statement about the B/S pairing, "under the present circumstances." Just an idea, but... If Spike is really that into Buffy to the point where he's denying his vampire identity (we've seen hints of that), you know what he could try, as a final act of total desperation? Have Willow make him a soul. There are lots of issues there, not the least of which being the loophole in the one curse our heroes know, but I think it's worth pondering.

Things are going to get *so* interesting! :)

I believe he's aware that Buffy & Spike do become a couple but evidently he hasn't found out the details.
I'm not sure he *knows* for sure, but he's aware that they're a very popular pairing. I guess he's just hoping they won't end up together for no reason other than fan pressure (he really is all about keeping people in character - he doesn't care if they're horrible, as long as it makes sense).

I'm pretty sure he knows. He mentioned he was aware of it somewhere in the thread for his Prophecy Girl review.

I have absolutely no objections to B/A, B/lonely
forever, B/Sp... (yes, flipping through bad fanfiction in my MSTing
days did make me aware that there's someone else I haven't met yet
who'll be relevant). Just as long as it's done well, that is.

Ooooh thank you! I vaguely remembered something, but not where. I think he also mentioned seeing S7 B/S fanfic somewhere and worrying - but this was back in S2 I think...
