Taking a tiny little moment to squee over the icon lmbossy made for me! Isn't it awesome? ('Awesome' never used to be part of my vocabulary before LJ... *g*)

I feel like saying a prayer of thanksgiving... all together now: "One one zero one zero zero one..."

"Awsome" isn't a word you used to use? Very interesting. I grew up in the pacific northwest in the 80s and it was the word for a while there-- our parents probably said "cool".

It's definitely an American expression. In the UK people use 'cool', 'wicked', 'brilliant' etc.

Interesting. When I was a teenager (ie when it actually mattered!) "Cool" was (again, at least on the isolated oregon coast) something our parents said. The surfer boys said "Awesome". I only remember hearing "Brilliant from a scottish sitcom star.

I of course thought I was much to cool to use any of the above without heavy doses of irony; and categorically refused to play hacky-sack. God, i was insufferable!

I know what you mean about the use of certain words. "Awesome" wasn't a word I ever used either! Do you ever find words you use on LJ spilling over into RL? My husband looks at me like I'm crazy sometimes! No? Just me then! *g*

Oh yeah. 'Dude' is another one. As is 'bathroom' which is really strange since I find the word illogical. To mention but a few. And yes my husband looks at me like I'm crazy (when he's in a good mood. If not he threatens nasty things if I don't stop abusing the English language!).

Your icon is soooo cute! I've just been skimming over what my flist has been up to while I was away and I'm happy to see that you have been valiantly defending the honour of Spike throughout the land! Heeee. Good on you.

Well I don't mind people hating Spike, but I *do* mind them having no logic! Just like I don't particularly like 'soulless redemption', but I adore rahirah because she makes it work rather well, and she has a brain. She doesn't go 'omg horrid soul it buuuurns!'

Hmmm, I might have hung out on newsgroups too much... *sigh*
