Nice, rather quiet day, with more snow. It's very pretty, but cold, and I hope we won't get more what with having to get children to school tomorrow...
Re. Doctor Zhivago, then I think I shall appropriate a line from 'Gaudy Night' to explain my main reaction:
How fleeting are all human passions compared with the massive continuity of Mother Russia.
Darcy wasn't that enamoured of it - he doesn't like stories that don't really go anywhere. (He also hated the ending of Captain Corelli.) But I am glad to have seen it, because it is a wonderful film - plus the cinematography is truly outstanding. So, so pretty.
