Birthday Post. :)

Yesterday was very, very lovely indeed! I got a snail mail card from [livejournal.com profile] the_royal_anna and an e-card from [livejournal.com profile] kathyh and lots of wonderful, wonderful greetings from my flist. *hugs everyone*

I also got lots of pretty graphics, which I'm going to put under a cut so as not to mess up your flists.

[livejournal.com profile] green_maia made me this fabulous Eleven birthday greeting, which was pretty much the first thing I saw when I turned on the computer, and set the tone wonderfully:

[livejournal.com profile] the_redjay found this for me on DeviantArt (it's made by Sexton666), and it is seriously one of the most gorgeous Spuffy manips I've ever seen:

[livejournal.com profile] kathyh made me two icons! I had the ideas for them a while ago, and she very kindly offered to see what she could do, and then they turned up yesterday! \o/ Snaggable with credit if anyone else wants them too:

[livejournal.com profile] eilowyn is only a beginner when it comes to picspams, and yet look what she made for me!!!

So it was a very brilliant day from a fannish, LJ-centric perspective. :)

In RL things were pretty nifty too. All the girls had an inset day, which meant NO SCHOOL, so I had a blissful lie-in. Then there were cards & presents (book, DVDs, gift card for bookshop) and breakfast, and after a quiet morning (the girls watching Sarah Jane and I squeeing on LJ and posting fic etc) I took them to town. We spent a while wandering around shops, which was nice - if a little stressful - and when we came back mid-afternoon Darcy was already back from work and we settled down to watch one of my DVDs (La Grande Vadrouille, one of the funniest films ever!) Darcy, btw, had got me a HUGE bouquet and the Star Trek re-boot (he's been run off his feet, poor thing, and the thing at the top of my wish list - DW S5 - isn't actually out yet).

Then we made our way over to my in-laws, since it is also younger s-i-l's birthday, and had a lovely family get-together, complete with brilliant cake! (I'll see if I can get hold of a photo.) Oh and she got me chocolate, and Stephen Fry's latest book! \o/) After a few hours Darcy and I left - the girls slept over! - sort of intending to go to the cinema, but since the only thing that was tempting was Vampires Suck, we instead went home and watched Star Trek (we've got a projector & and an improvised screen, so it's a bit like a mini cinema). And that's pretty much it, I think - I have a feeling I'm forgetting something, but I'm sure you're all bored by now. Really, I'm just writing this for me. :)
