OK, this is just too bizarre not to pass on...

Someone is trying to sell their Star Wars fanfic on Amazon! See for yourselves!

(Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] harmonyfb for the link!)

I read a little. Clunky writing, full of names and statistics - much the sort of thing a bright teenage fanboy might produce. Quite possibly better than Lucas's own writing, which is not hard, but not actually any good. After two pages I lacked the strength to go on to a third. That good.

Crazy woman. Has she no clue, not even of any sort?

I didn't spot the price. I was just gobsmacked at the effrontery of trying to sell it at all.

I'm astonished Amazon's lawyers didn't pick up on the implications of this.

What is more, if I understand the stats, she's actually sold some books:

Amazon.com Sales Rank: #34,166 in Books (See Top Sellers in Books)
Yesterday: #39,951 in Books

- unless Amazon has deleted a lot of books from their lists overnight. I cannot understand why it's still up for sale there. By now surely Lucas's lawyers have contacted them?

It's gone now. About time.
