PIMP!
Grrrrr! I was editing this, and accidently deleted the entry! Gah! So sorry to all those people whose comments disappeared! But at least I got the main post back! *sigh*
Plans for tonight are: Watching As You Were! "Why?" You might ask... It is a loathsome episode with a clumsy plot and Riley is portrayed as 'the great big hero' (grrr! Captain Cardboard and his too perfect wife!). But - I have just read one of the most brilliant essays ever, and suddenly I have understood that As You Were is a very clever and sophisticated episode! It's written by
theohara and you can find it here! Go read now! Or, just in case you're all busy with this Christmas thing that's happening in a few days time, save it to your memories and read later! I seriously cannot recommend this highly enough!
A perfect companion piece to this essay is
jonesiexxx's post about Buffy's state of mind in AYW, and why she turns into Silly!Buffy the moment Riley arrives.
ETA:
theohara has another post (from the day after the essay) where she issues a challenge: You get to write AYW. Utterly, utterly hilarious! Go! Read! Laugh!
