:) and :(

The good news: We just bought a tumble dryer which will make my life SO MUCH EASIER!

The bad news: The Mac ate my picture and music folders when Darcy upgaded the operating system. The music isn't *that* big a deal, since it's all replacable, but in the picture folder were ALL my wallpapers, carefully collected over more than 2 years... including quite a few from the BBC's now-dead site. ::cries:: Although I keep telling myself that at least the fic is all there!

Oh my! I'm so sorry. Computers are weird creatures. I totally understand how losing collections on your computer can just kill you. But, yes, you should be happy your documents are all there. :D

Sorry to hear about this. OS upgrades are often dicey things when it comes to your documents. I have a photo album software program that has nver quite adjusted to the change in systems.

I'm so sorry to hear about the computer eating your pictures :( It's always hard. I can't wait to buy discs and burn my stuff to the cd.

But *yay* for the dryer :)

::hugs::

After I lost most of my stuff when the virus struck last year, I invested in an external drive. Now, I copy everything over once a month religiously. And because it isn't connected to my pc unless I plug the USB in, it's pretty safe.

Oh Elisabeth! I'm so sorry to hear this ::many hugs::
I know exactly what you're going through because when my mp3 player bit the dust it was just heartwrenching. On the positive side, if there is one, at least it wasn't family photos and, as you say, fic.
Is there anything I can do? Perhaps I can send you some of my wallpapers?
::more hugs::

Oh, so sorry to hear about your picture folders. I lost loads of stuff when our old computer died and it just hurts.

I'm sorry you lost your pictures! I'm kind of an obsessive collector of pics, so I'd be pretty devastated. I have an iPod, and I use it as an external hard drive for files I don't want to lose.

Yay for the dryer!

Oh no! I'm sorry that you lost all of your wallpapers, that must be hard for you after collecting them for so long. *hugs* I don't have any saved on my computer, or I would totally send you some.

On the plus side, yay! for a tumble dryer. Anything that can save you time around the house is a good thing in my book.
