Teacher's Pet! :)

Just watched 'Teachers Pet', which I am always calling 'Insect Lady' in my mind and thinking of as 'Bad S1'. But - I loved it! It is quite possible that I haven't actually seen it since it first aired, because parts of it were completely new! Will do a bullet-point type thing, since I'm in a hurry.

- The start with Xander's *awesome* dream I had no recollection of whatsoever! Saving Buffy (who looks up at him adoringly), playing the guitar really, really well - and then waking up in class. Heh. So well done!

- Dr Gregory having faith in Buffy - telling her that she's very smart and able to think on her feet. Wonderful assessment of her.

- Angel appearing again and being slightly less wooden. And then giving Buffy his jacket - which she continues to wear the whole rest of the episode. Very nicely done. (And Xander's 'But he's a very handsome man! Heee!)

- Yes the whole 'older woman' thang is silly, but it's rather nicely done - much better than I remembered! Also this is the beginning of Xander's 'demon magnet' story, and (in yet another formerly unheeded piece of brilliance) at the Bronze the band (Superfine) plays 'I already met you'. That is some *nice* work! ::is impressed::

- Buffy is really showing who's in control. She patrols when Giles tells her not to, she uses her brain (does her homework like Dr Gregory told her) to work out the problem and orders people around when she needs something done. Even Giles does as he's told without a second thought. I also loved that she captured the 'fork-hand-guy' so he can show her where Miss French's house is. And - joy of joys - she stakes him with a piece of white picket fence!!!! (Spike was right on the money in 'First Date' - how I love this show!)

- To sum up, this is a very nice Xander episode. He's petty and silly and pathetic, but also funny and honest and brave. Sweetest of all though, was how his dream from the beginning was completely reversed at the end when Buffy saved *him*. Oh and we find out that his middle name is Lavelle, which I'm sure comes up again later.

OK, must stop writing now, I need sleep!
