That is SO sweet of you! But it wasn't some sort of veiled 'please help me' post - well not in that way anyway. Oh dear, I hope I'm not coming over all ungrateful, because I'm currently doing the Numfar Dance of Joy! ::many hugs::

Oh - and I keep forgetting to tell you. I managed to get Darcy to read a bit of 'Savage Beauty' the other day (the premise, not surprisingly, intrigued him) and I think he liked it. Well - he didn't say anything negative! *g*

Also I have a hard time seeing Logan as 'the coolest baddest most awesome character' ever... I have only watched 4 episodes of VM so far, but he's still only a bit if a spoilt rich kid! Nothing at all like Spike in 'School Hard'!

And can anyone tell me if you get to keep your header once your paid time runs out?

Yup, you do. My paid time ran out a couple of weeks ago, but the header is still there, which rather suprised me actually. i guess you just lose the ability to change it, though, and have to go back to five icons.

Just exactly as they are since I love the way you phrase things - all I'll try to do is stick the bits together somehow. :) Actually I might flesh out the S/B bit since you made me think of loads of stuff that I hadn't considered previously - you have a very clever head!

About the painting, I seem to recall saying something about payment way back when. Please consider that as stricken from the record, since there is no way I'll let you pay for it, OK?

I know the feeling - I nagged Darcy into it in the end. Although some layouts are a lot easier than others (see these posts - 'Tranquility II seems very easy indeed f.ex.).

My layout is of course one of the awkward ones, but I like it too much to change...

amavel_bel has made around a hundred, have a look in her memories) and I can walk you through it! I suppose you have a photobucket account or similar?

Right, I had some time whilst feeding the baby. This should all make sense, if not just ask! :)

First upload the banner to photobucket (or similar). Once uploaded you can click on the picture and it will show you the full size. Underneath will be the measurements (something like 750x440). Write these down.

Then go to Manage - customize (http://www.livejournal.com/customize/) and change your layout to Tranquility II. You can try out the different themes (colourschemes) if you like - something to match the banner maybe? Just remember to press 'save'...

Once you like the colours (which you can always change anyway), click on the button that says 'Edit Customizations'. Then choose 'Presentation'.

Right at the bottom is a box labelled 'include any CSS here to override the default CSS'. (I have no idea what it means either, btw.) Check the box and an oblong box will appear with lots of html in.

Now (as it says here: http://www.livejournal.com/community/s2howto/32657.html ) get your banner's URL code and paste in where it says 'http://www.example.com/header.jpg' (deleting that first of course). Actually the tutorial is very good using different colours and everything so you might be better of reading that! Anyhoo - get your size measurements and put them in where it says width and height (instead of the 100's).

Then press 'save' and voila! One header! :)
