Emergency Lurker Procedures Implemented
OK, this is kinda awkward. Even if I'm allowed to annoy you all without fear of the US government...
Basically I'm much, much too busy - even now I should actually be downstairs sorting out the washing up - and I just can't keep up with all of you. You talk far, far too much and although you are always fun/interesting/must-read/though-provoking etc etc, I am quite simply incapable of responding to it. So, if you haven't seen much of me recently (and don't in the immediate future), it's because I'm just run off my feet. As
marsterslady put it: Seriously .. you've no idea how much housework I don't get done in a day. I *will* read my flist, I'm just going to suck at commenting, OK? And I'm really annoyed that this is the situation, what with so many new friends to get to know. But I really want to write (at least a little) and there is only so much time I can spend on the computer every day without getting a guilt-complex.
To finish, because I've been meaning to share this for a while:
Some weeks ago now I couldn't find Impish Girl's nightie when putting the girls to bed. Little Miss M's response was this: "You can make a search party, but I'm not going!"
ETA: Adding this, before it fossilises in my mind. When I watched 'Doppelgangland' I noticed that 'Virgin State of Mind' (from the first Buffy soundtrack) is played as Vamp!Willow walks around in The Bronze. It is quite a long scene, so I figure the song is supposed to say something about Willow.
K'S CHOICE: "Virgin State Of Mind"
There's a chair in my head on which I used to sit
Took a pencil and I wrote the following on it
Now there's a key where my wonderful mouth used to be
Dig it up, throw it at me x2
Where can I run to, where can I hide
Who will I turn to now I'm in a virgin state of mind
Got a knife to disengage the voids that I can't bear
To cut out words I've got written on my chair
Like do you think I'm sexy
Do you think I really care
Can I burn the mazes I grow
Can I, I don't think so
Can I burn the mazes I grow
Can I, I don't think so
Where can I run to, where can I hide
Who will I turn to now I'm in a virgin state of mind
Virgin state of mind x3
So, what do you think it says about Willow? Or don't you care? Discuss.
::disappears, giving out hugs and kisses to all::

These two lines from the song caught my eye:
Like do you think I'm sexy
Do you think I really care
These lines seem to indicate a sort of passive-aggressive need for attention, perhaps. I see Willow as pretty conflicted: both wanting to be viewed as a sexual person, but putting up walls to deflect it from happening. She probably envied Buffy a little for getting all the attention, but at the same time didn't feel confident enough to dress as provocatively.
Other than the leather outfit she dons to pretend to be Vamp!Willow, I can only think of two other outfits that overtly highlighted her body. In Season 5, she wears a clingy dress with a short jacket over it when she confronts Glory for brainsucking Tara in Tough Love, and in Season 6, she wears a midriff-baring top when she takes her
acidmagic trip with Rack in Wrecked. There may have been more, but they were far outweighed by the many, many, MANY horrid outfits she usually wore. :)no subject

I think you're probably right. There is her dream in Restless of course and also the time she goes out partying with Amy - she tries so very hard to be 'cool'!
