Now you see me...

First some recs, since I am *incapable* of enjoying something without telling others about it. This is a source of continual annoyance for Darcy, but (I hope) a bonus for you...

Via [livejournal.com profile] buttersideup: The plot of Serenity told with photoshop hand puppets. This is fantastically funny and had me giggling like mad. Very, very spoilery (obviously)!

Via [livejournal.com profile] zimsham: alternate Serenity DVD covers. Fan-made and most of them utterly gorgeous! :)

Via [livejournal.com profile] petzipellepingo: Pirates of the Caribbean trailer. Oh yes! :D

There was probably more, but I can't be bothered remember. The weather is *horrible* - grey and rainy and cold and nasty! I took some photos for [livejournal.com profile] wild_photos the other day (when it was sunny and frosty) but I accidentally wiped them off the camera, so I'll just use some old ones instead, since there is no way I'll have time to take any more before Sunday. (And [livejournal.com profile] poshcat - why haven't you signed up yet? Go on - you said you would! ::is nosy::)

In other news - the baby is cutting her first tooth and is *grumpy*! She still sleeps at night though, which is what matters. But we do get shouted at a lot during the day... and she's only 10 weeks old!!!! Poor thing. (and poor me...)

I keep writing fascinating posts in my head when I'm away from the computer, but once I'm here, I just forget/have no time. So I will run again. And hopefully *tonight* we will get round to putting up Christmas decorations. Last night - meh, too long and boring to explain.

First tooth? You're kidding!

Wow! That's impressive. Neither of mine had a single tooth until they were nearly a year old.

Yes, it's lovely. Thanks. I'm afraid I don't currently have a Spuffy one uploaded to reciprocate.

Teething already? That's SuperBaby you've got there. Time to get out the frozen washcloths (old family remedy).

[identity profile] petzipellepingo.livejournal.com 2005-12-02 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
You take a freshly laundered washcloth, wring it out in cold water and place in the freezer. When it is nice and stiff you hand it to baby. The cold helps numb the pain and chewing on terrycloth can't hurt baby. Replace with a fresh one as the cold wears off.

How sad is it that I enjoyed the hand puppet version of Serenity far more than I enjoyed the actual movie?

Serenity DVD covers. Fan-made and most of them utterly gorgeous! :)
And from a purely objective, designer's POV, some of them really blow!!! I do love a few though - thanks for linking! - when I get around to buying it, I may well print an alternative cover ;)

The hand puppets were cute, along with some of the lines, though I hear there's a funnier summary out there which I hadn't heard about.

Most of those DVD covers are quite an improvement over the actual cover. And how the llama one made me laugh!

Sorry about the photo loss. We just did ours too and would have been very put out to lose them.

Yikes, baby teething crankiness.

I keep writing fascinating posts in my head when I'm away from the computer, but once I'm here, I just forget/have no time.
Mike will be happy to hear he's not alone.

Hi. You don't know me, but I just friended you because of the "Darcy"-I'm very new here and don't really get friending/communication, etc.. But if you haven't already seen it, you should check out Joss Whedon's Pride and Prejudice. http://www.lifeamgood.com/01aprbuffy.html And if you have ever thought about P/P and BtVS at the same time, I would love to hear from you. I am writing an essay.

Ok, totally get it, great pics! BTW, did you know that Joss lists P&P as one of the 5 books he would take with him to a desert island? Probably that and "Life with Llamas" (there was a hysterical conversation about llama and the US cover on the main US Serenity board)

Hi--

I'm not sure if these links will work but alternately you can go to the browncoats forum and use the search function.

the first one was under "DVD art" thread started by Joss:

http://browncoats.serenitymovie.com/serenity/index.html?fuseaction=forum.viewtopic&t=24828&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30

it starts about p 3 of the discussion

I know there's a fear the llama thread somewhere and some other great llama covers in a design your own cover thread.

NB congrats on the sleeping. Mine often sleeps through the night now too. (she's 9. Years.) Count your blessings--every hour of sleep "is a guinea in the bank of good health"

Hee! Thanks for the link to the Serenity puppets, that was too funny!

Oh yes! I will totally put it under my tree and wait until Christmas. Yay! You're the sweetest Elisi. ::hugs::
