Gay marriage...

Funny thing, but this issue wasn't mentioned ONCE at work today. But then, our used-to-be-straight member of staff was merrily kissing/flirting with her girlfriend, so it's kind of a non-issue... As it is for most people I suspect.

I look forward to the day it is truly a non-issue - and children can look back and shake their heads in dismay like we have with the race issue and escalation of violence in the 60's.

I had the same reaction when I saw two guys holding hands in the school cafe yesterday, and I thought about how lucky I am to be at a school where seeing things like that is normalized. It made me smile. Have you ever heard of the group Believe Out Loud? It's a Christian organization that supports marriage equality, and I thought it might interest you. I follow them on Facebook, but I know there's a website if you google it.

Oughta be a non-issue, since equal rights should be an automatic thing. One point, and it may be my age, but I think that personal and/or romantic contact should be in private, not public, unless in a very low-key, subtle way. This is true for anyone, straight or gay. It's a matter of appropriateness in public, particularly in the workplace. There's nothing wrong with what I wear to wash the car, but I'd not wear it to a funeral or wedding.

Coy is good, and as I said, "older than dirt."

Too funny!

I'm very glad to work in an incredibly liberal environment... I don't think I'd have survived for long in a more conservative workplace. Love your icon, BTW. Jenny-Vastra are so awesome!
