Because it made me resemble my icon...

(For those that missed the debate - like me, and you'd have had to pay me to watch - apparently it went a lot like this. Americans - PLEASE do not inflict this pompous, moronic nitwit on an unstable world.)
ETA: Aaaaand Caption Contest. Many apologies if you need to scrub your eyes afterwards! *g* (Work safe, just... you'll see.)

Doctor Who - funnily enough - had a storyline that kinda mirrors this (hence the icon):
Journalist: The thing is, it’s obvious. The forgery is screaming out and yet no one can see it. It’s as if he’s mesmerized the entire world.
Of course he was really the Doctor's oldest foe and murdered the American President (just for fun) and took over the world. I don't really think Romney has the brains for something like that. *g* (In Britain generally we're jealous of Obama (all our politicians are rubbish, except for Boris who is very entertaining, but is also a cause for concern) and despise Romney.)

I did see the "You sunk his battleship" exchange... which is kind of awesome.

And yes, I've seen the whole 'horses and bayonets' thing. Just beautiful.

But I really hope he looses. Four years of him on the news is too much to bear!

But they are still voting for him! This is what I can't get my head around. (David Cameron might be an idiot, but I can still see why people voted for him. With Mitt... It's unfathomable. Dubya was also an idiot, but at least he was a likeable idiot.)

My main problem is that he has no spine and no opinions and could do... anything. Sarah Palin was nuts, but Romney is someone who will say and do anything to get ahead. And that's genuinely frightening. :(
(Sorry, this was meant to be a funny post, wasn't it?)

I actually spend a whole lot of last weekend discussing exactly this with various family members. For the record none of them are thrilled with Romney, but interestingly enough the issue that sways most of them is the debt/ budget deficit. Just FYI!
But I did mean to be a little funny!

Exactly.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry... Don't suppose either of this would have any impact: http://politicartoons.livejournal.com/3352283.html

Which is why I was sorry to go all serious and headdesk-y in response... Just. WHY?

Exactly.
Romney makes me miss W. Bush, something I never thought I'd say. I'd prefer a compassionate but intellectually challenged candidate plagued by grammatical errors over a sociopathic and deceptive candidate plagued by factual and logical errors.

*nods* An idiot, but a nice idiot - you could imagine yourself having a chat with him over a pint. Romney... not so much. :(
Well Romney reminds me of this. Except for the part where he didn't earn it himself:

Apparently, mittromney dot com used to sell "Romney Superfan" t-shirts. At some point after he won the nomination, they discontinued the t-shirts due to lack of demand.

Sadly I seriously heard an American woman on TV saying "When it comes to a job like president you gotta go with the one who has the experience for the job... so you gotta vote for Romney."
What hope has the world got?
