Of course it's more grownup, but so many of the ingredients are the same - the children being targeted, the puppets being evil, all the stuff about storytelling being used (and misused) and the stories (songs) within the story being important plot points, the magic, the transformations, and - of course - all the silly humour. They found EVERYTHING with puppet!Angel hilarious.

Did you hear what Santorum said in his defense? "I've voted to kill Big Bird in the past," he said when asked about his position on the issue. "So, I have a record there that I have to disclose. OMG, first of all, this whole PBS bullshit blows my damned mind. As part of the 47% that gets economically assraped by his OVERSEAS COMPANIES on a constant, who struggles to scrape funds TO KEEP PBS ON THE AIR - if find it outrageous.

I know they are not ACTUALLY constructed of tin cans. They fly based on the wonderful power of engines and the basic laws of aerodynamics...and that there is oxygen inside WITHOUT opening a window (and getting sucked out smaller than you went in.) Fire bad. Tree pretty.

Sarah Palin is another fine example of 'Oh, fuck me' that has been birthed out of the backwoods somewhere by an evol!Republican scheme that was scratched out on a piece of toilet paper sixty years ago and passed down through the hallowed urinals of the White House until it was walked through Congress on someone's shoe - a mystery to ever be unraveled that birthed the likes of Palin!Agenda, Newt!Hypocrisy and Bush!isms. Somebody on the internet was saying that what Mitt Romney wants to do is defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which is apparently different from defunding PBS? Because apparently that Corporation has been supposed to be becoming slowly self-supporting since the 80's? Or something? But I have no idea if this is true, and if he's really cutting PBS subsidies, I want to flip some tables, because it's just one more step down the road to having a fully protected country and no sense of wonder worth protecting. *bangs head on the wall*

Sigh. I really don't get the appeal of Mitt Romney. I can usually see the appeal of various republican candidates, but this guy? I don't get it. I actually had a long talk with my (very conservative) mom last night on the subject and she doesn't get it either. She wasn't thrilled with any of the candidates this year, and while she's planning to vote for Romney because she prefers his fiscal policies she's Not Happy.

He just seems to utterly out of touch. The plane thing is a good example, as is the 47% that the democrats should be making a lot more out of. And his wife has never worked. Ever. It's just bizzare!

I... don't understand Republicans. At ALL. I mean, I don't even understand the Tories, and since they're practically Socialists compared to Republicans I realise I don't have a chance of ever getting my head around it. But then I was raised in Liberal Scandinavia...
