I've just sent the final draft of the last chapter to my beta.
I... don't know how to feel.
(ETA: Index post here in case there's anyone out there who doesn't know what I'm talking about.)
ETA2: Just happened to look back through old entries and found the WIP meme, wherein I moaned about this chapter and posted the first line. And indeed that line has gone. Plus the chapter has had SO MUCH work done to it that it's barely recognisable. And it's taken 5 months... /o\

WIPs are EVIL. *nods* Although I think the most overwhelming emotion is relief... It's been hanging over me, causing me guilt.
Besides, with the subject matter of this one, it is understandable that it needs a little extra love and attention.
The ending really surprised me. Well - I always had the VERY ending worked out, but it never felt ENOUGH and now there's all this STUFF which turned up, and is pretty brilliant and really adds impact to the whole thing. New beginnings and all that. :)
AND this is an excellent excuse to go back and reread both stories so that I'm all caught up.
I've been rereading stuff too, just to remind myself... It's been a looooong time.
