Actually, it reminded me of how bad Angelus was. ;-) I meant more generally... Mark falls prey to it completely. I mean: He judges Spike by human standards. (But then so does Buffy... Which is what makes him so fascinating. He might be a monster, but he's so very human.)
Although I definitely know what you mean, and that's what at the heart of my my sudden need to match up the caps - Angelus is angry about being shut out, yet (as you say) confident that he'll still be able to hurt her. Whereas Spike's focus is making Buffy like him, and this with one fell swoop destroys years worth of unspoken trust... BLESS HIM! *hugs Spike*
