It's funny, because I disagree with a lot of what he does with the Doctor, but I will defend his *right* to do it, and I've never come across anyone who talks about writing as truthfully as he does. I could quote the entire book... (No really, I have about a million book marks in it. He gets right to the heart of things, and it's *amazing*.)

One of the best books on writing I've ever read. I keep recommending it to friends who are writers but not Doctor Who fans, and those who have picked it up love it, mainly because a number of them have found themselves saying, "Oh, god, that's so true."

It's incredible. And so, so, so true - it's seriously the best book on writing ever. Certainly the best I've ever read. Plus, it's fascinating to get a glimpse 'behind the scenes' - I think I'm far more appreciative of how much hard work goes into TV than I was.

See, when I think of writer's block, it is that the words won't come together. More often than not, I'm full of ideas but they just can't seem to come into story existence.

Uh-huh. *nods a lot* There's all this story you need to write, and you've got all the words that need to be put together to make the story, but they just REFUSE to co-operate.
