Because I am useless at talking about RL, I've not yet mentioned that I volunteer at the local community centre once a week, doing admin support stuff. (Lovely place, nice people, new things to learn, looks great on my CV!)

Now a few weeks ago I thought I'd hit the pinnacle of delight, since they 'paid' me in potatoes! (5 kgs. Nice.)

Today, however, I MADE A DALEK! There will be photos tomorrow, oh yes.


(Darn I wish they could afford to employ me properly...)

Awesome! I made one out of things I found around the office a while back during a lull of procrastination code-compiling at work. We should start a guild!

Thanks! I posted the ingredients on the crafty_tardis website back when I first made it, but for the curious they are: cut-up eraser refills, bowl of a plastic spoon, more erasers and a thumbtack, some plastic fork tines, tape and some cut-up shiny black matte paper, a yoplait yogurt cup, a coffee sleeve, post-it notes, a drink stirrer with some tape and blue marker on it, a finger cot swiped from the first aid kit, a binder clip, paper clips, pennies and a twist tie. Put together with lots of Scotch tape, some more thumbtacks, more eraser pieces and paper clips on the inside.

I put it together in november of 2009 and it's still in one piece, guarding the shelf above my desk at work :)
