Birthday post.

The birthday started Friday night. As some of you might remember, my younger sister in law shares my birthday, so we had a sort of 'joint party' Friday night at the in-laws'. Lots of neighbours and friends (although most of these were Beth's). Very nice and I got to wear my new dress, that Darcy bought me as a 'baby-present'.

Saturday started with a few presents. [livejournal.com profile] lillianmorgan had sent me a Spike calender (Squeeeeee! I've never had one before!) and Darcy had got me the most adorable little mp3 player (red! So pretty.) and last weekend I spent my parents' birthday money on a very nice pair of shoes.
After a yummy breakfast we went to town, looking in shops and getting a few things and having lunch in one of the cafés. Then went round to parents-in-law (again) - mostly to say hello to elder s-i-l who'd arrived late the night before and really wanted to see her new niece. (She lives in Scotland I should probably point out...). And m-i-l gave me some gift vouchers! :) Which I have yet to spend. Mmmm, shopping!
When we got back home we had some relative peace - I looked through my flist while Darcy watched something on tv with the kids. Then we had a very quick dinner before setting off yet again. Took the children back to grandparents (I left my baby! Wah!) before setting off to the cinema. Very awkwardly the local cineworld had stopped showing Serenity, but we found another place, about half an hours drive away (nothing that trivial was likely to stop me!). I wore my chinese dress again (Darcy very rightly pointed out that it was very much in keeping with the film. Not that he had other motives. Oh no!) and felt v. pretty if a bit cold. Anyway, enjoyed the film very much, but will save my impressions for another post.
The children had been very good - even the baby - so that was a relief. Although not as much of a relief as 3 hours ALL TO OURSELVES! I love my children, but it does get very tireing to have someone there all the time.

Sunday morning I got a lot of housework/tidying done (incredible how stuff gets messy when I don't care for a few days...) before church and afterwards my friend C. came to visit again (She came in the summer if you recall - we grew up together in the Faroes and now she has a boyfriend from West Yorkshire! Really a very odd co-incidence.). We had a nice lunch and talked loads and loads, before we went to town since there was a Fair (it's half term this week, which as usual means that a Fairground arrived!). The children had lots of fun and so did we, before it was time to walk down to the train station. Can't remember much from Sunday night except that Darcy and I watched the first hour of 'Return of the King'... for some reason the lighting of the beacons makes me tear up. It's a fabulous scene.

That's all I think. That was probably extremely boring for anyone who isn't me, but there is a sad lack of giant killer robots or similar exciting things in my life.

Finally I thought I'd include a baby picture. I'll do a proper pic-spam at some point, but that'll be f-locked, so I just wanted to show off my gorgeous baby to the world! ;)
