Our garden backs up to a nature reserve, but we've never had anything like this before!

(Well our next door neighbour has seen a FOX many times, but that's kinda beside the point. *g*)

I love pheasants! We used to see them a lot where my folks used to live in eastern oregon. They're so pretty! And yummy. But mostly pretty!

There's pheasants in these here parts, too; though we don't see 'em that often. Early morning's your best bet.

Well we've never had one in our garden before. Like I said above, we are next door to a nature reserve, but most of the 'wild' animals tend to stay away from built up areas.

LOL! Well I've never managed a pheasant before and doubt I ever will again. But it was neat while it lasted. :)

And oh, those are not my stories! They are the work of the fabulous frimfram whose work I admire impossibly much! Plus, I'm afraid that The Other Side of the Tracks will never be finished - not only has she left fandom (not in anger, she just moved on), but even before then she decided that that story was not to be finished, because it went in unexpected directions and she'd not be able to do what she wanted. So sorry to be the bearer of such unhappy news!

I remember there being some kind of battle on doctoreleven about who was more hipster Matt or Arthur. Someone brought out a macro: my sweater has pheasants on it, your argument is invalid.

And for once I was like, yeah, that pretty much just ends all debate right there.

I actually find the windmill one to be the uglier sweater. And yet somehow "pheasants" is funnier to say, making that the trump.

Of course, if a comm has devolved into a battle about which ugly sweater is more hipster, I'm pretty sure everybody wins.

*nods sagely* Did I ever mention that the very first time I saw Darcy he was wearing a *bright* green T-shirt and blue & white checkered trousers? (Not hipster in any way shape or form, but certainly... different.)

You should have seen the VERY BRIGHT yellow/orange/green ones he acquired later on... Together with the T-shirt they were quite something! :)

(Although it was pretty much love at first sight, so I couldn't care less about the trousers. Esp considering that he wrote songs for me...)
