I'm not sure I understand...why does speaking up nescessarily mean you've given up your right to privacy?

Yeah.. I get what he means by 'we have to do really difficult/painful things for the greater good' but I don't get how that means she's forfeited her right to privacy. Exposing your life [bravely, willingly] to the media and public I think is not the same as giving up your rights.
oh well, I guess it's just semantics.

I greatly admire Lara for doing that. I can't even comprehend the kind of courage it takes.
Especially in this fucked up society where victim-blaming is still a huge issue.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying. She still has the right to privacy. I suppose it's more that she chose not to exercise it.
