Ta-Nehisi Coates writes a lot about the American Civil War, and it's always very interesting and informative - I love his writing. And then sometimes he posts something that just... something that's a Soylent Green moment:

The SCV wants Mississippi to issue license plates honoring Forrest. I have a better idea.

The worst part? Slavery is still very much alive even in the USA. It's just not out in the open.

Blegh....Forest. KKK and their kind are quite a blemish on the south. To honor him ? Yeah, why no honor Stalin as well ? And I betcha not many know that the first klan attacked whites just as much as blacks, not just though who were Northern. But anyone really who objected to what was happening to their new black neighbors, or whose who were running against the party tke klan supported.
And people wonder why Mississippi still considered one the most backwards aholes states in the US ?
