FYI.
DeviantArt FAIL. (Three months old... Why have I not heard of it before?) Plus, neat drawing here, which sums it all up.
(Icon is both awesome and relevant to the post.)
Oh and sorry 'bout being absent. Life is busy...

My apologies but there are only two sexes; male and female so one should apply to you. In the unusual case that you are hermaphrodite then I would suggest that you select the one which you feel applies the best. ~~~
Hard to find the words really.
It really is.

(As it happens I've got a gender neutral character in one of my fics (an OC), and writing hir is something that's both fascinating and fraught with worry, because I don't want to upset anyone or write something thoughtlessly hurtful and uninformed... And that's just a fic with a handful of readers. I can't imagine running a website and be so intentionally cavalier and insulting.)

just watching a 1st season episode of the US Queer As Folk and, because of finding this post today I think that I needed it because of this speech by Ted Schmidt to his friend Emmett, whose been taken in by a (so-called) Christian Change Ministry.
Emmett & Mikey have turned up, basially to say goodbye to their best friend, and Mikey has just told how he'll always want to remember Emmett waving his arms above his head doing his Liza impersonation.
Emmett :- I don't think god appreciates quite as much as you do.
Ted :- I think god appreciates it even more... Cos he created you in his image... At least that's what I was always taught. And since God is love; and god doesn't make mistakes, then... you must be exactly the way he wants you to be; the way he intended you to be. And that goes for every person; every planet; every mountain; every... grain of sand; every song;.. every tear... and every faggot.
We're all his! (whispers) Emmett... And he loves us all... (hugs Emmett, and whispers) Goodbye, Emmett.

I went and tried to find some! :) I think the best one is probably the last one in this post, although you might also like #26 here - it's a bit more 'overwhelmed' though.
ETA: Oh, and I meant to say that I ADORE your shipping icon. It is pure love! :)

Betcha by golly the Pat Robertson's of this world had something to say about that :-)
Got the icon off of jagfanlj. She says it's totally snaggable; just c=make sure to credit it to greylady.

Heh. Although speaking of straight actors, playing gay parts, have you heard of Christopher And His Kind, which will HOPEFULLY show up on our screens at some point?
Anyway, must run! :D

Yes, of course sir--that's how it is. Oh, and also the world is flat.

And of course the earth is flat. *rolls eyes*

It is rather freaky, to say the least. *loves*
I love yours too--I'd been meaning to say so before. In fact, I'd been eyeing it up when it was posted but decided not to!
Heh. Why am I not surprised? (I adore

I think I read somewhere that the proportion of the population who are hermaphrodite in some way may be well into the double digit percentile; there are certainly a growing number of cases of adults suing health authorities all over the western world, because of 'corrective' surgery they were given when they babies; which have blighted their entire lives.
Plus I have personal experience of losing someone who suffered because of this kind of casual, unthinking HATEFUL, and WILFUL, blindness to the complexities of the human spirit.
Maybe I am unbelievably thick, or incredibly thick-skinned, but I just don't get it; I really don't get how people can be so blindly...
And once more words fail me :-(

Hear only one thing your whole life, most people tend to believe it and are not going to let go of it easily.
I'm sorry to hear this kind of ignorance has impacted your life so personally.

in a response to elisi in my own original post, I mentioned that my first real girlfriend was a pre-op transexual. I never saw her as anything other than Her; it seems to be beyond me to understand how others could not, but then I was in my early twenties when I was suddenly like, "Huh! There was a closet I was supposed to have been in."
My parents, my father particularly; people I grew up around, the world I saw on TV, all told me that only certain ways were true and good.
And I never once believed them. I am the kid who it was ever-so-politely put to that, "Maybe you don't need to come to Sunday School anymore..." because I was asking too many awkward questions.
:-)
Like I said. Don't get it. Never Got it. Don't wanna get it.

Just, wow.
Thanks for linking.
From your second link, "The purpose of all of this is for ad targeting purposes so they can sell shoes to girls and trucks to boys..."
So, "Deviant"Art, how hard is it to keep that third option and sell vacations to people of other/undisclosed gender? And how hard is it to understand the difference between sex and gender!? Ouch.

Just, wow.
IKR? I couldn't believe it. Especially since they'd gone out of their way to say how LGBT friendly they were...

(And they went out of their way to re-design it like that. I cannot work out the thinking behind that.)

P.S. will come back later to discuss that asshatery that is deviantart's gender demands.

I saw it, and had to have it... *pets it* And Promethia has explained the thinking behind it (or rather my thinking).
P.S. will come back later to discuss that asshatery that is deviantart's gender demands.
'Asshattery' seems to be the perfect description!
