Help please

Dark Horse, in their infinite wisdom, has decided that the very best thing right now is to poke fandom with a pointy stick.

So, I was wondering if someone with a Whedonesque account would mind terribly jumping into the thread in question, and telling people that this is how a fight should go! (Spike changed his wardrobe, and Jack had a bit of work done... *g*) ETA: Done, so don't worry about it. But figured I might as well leave the post up. :)

Oh Torchwood, I miiiiiss you. *deep sigh*

Would totally post, but the content is blocked in the good ol' U.S. of A. :(

Posted that I'm in if it looks anything like the Jack/John fight (the only part of Torchwood I've seen . . . but I've seen it a couple times, so that counts, right?)

I'm not even gonna go near it...

*winces*

(Err... that being Dark Horse and the discussion. I will happily go near the video. And possibly squee.)

Hi,

I only check in on whedonesque these days for 'verse updates that I might've missed elsewhere. Make even a less than 100% pro-Joss comment and you're likely to have the Whedonverse KGB knocking on the door :-(

Makes me smile nostalgically about the old days on the willtara list when mobile assassination squads were out hunting down anyone having pro-Jossian thoughts...

NOT!!!

Streaming the vid though. Printed off a great pic of Jack & John snogging on the old BBC Torchwood site; gotta find a way of getting it online somewhere else. Need a paid account for that probably.

Besides as one of the posters says, "Gotta be CAVWMEN!!!"

:-)

ps. Gotta hunt down a drabble I read where Buffy was dreaming about Spike & Angel Nekkid!Wrassling it out in an oversized iron skillet *sighs*

Hah!

Love the icon, must pass that on to my friend Dana, who got jumped on for being lees than lovable about the comics. Not as - shall we say "unfriendly" as some have been though.

There is a storng tendency towards al-wheda fundamentalism in fandom sometimes; whether people loves spuffy; spangel; bangel or whatever.

Mmm... got me thinking. Can't imagine she'd be able to have them covered in garlic oil..?

Whaddaya think? Chili oil; bit of basil, a little cumin...

:-)

I'll be back after I've had my arct - ANYarctic shower

Ray's comment

Yeah, that was me, and yeah, I thought this was a patently puerile attempt by Dark Horse to generate controversy and thereby get free publicity and boost sales. I suspect that my comment did not go over very well, though I have not returned to read any responses to it. I am just surprised that otherwise sharp folk would want to play the game, since it cannot be answered save for in a completely reader-response way (my general modus operandi on whedonesque)...

But I do understand that people invest in character; it is just that this was so blatant.

Dana

+1

I couldn't not watch the video, no matter how many times I've seen it before...

Someone should poke them with a pointy stick! Actually the thought of that might just unite the fandom. :D

And all fights should go more like that. I really can't think of any that wouldn't be improved by some passionate kissing.

I actually have an opinion on the Angel/Spike question. I voted Angel, not cause I don't think Spike couldn't take him cause he totally does that time in Season 5. The problem is that if Angel was feeling his usual pissy self he has so many head games he could play with Spike and that is always Spike's weak spot. So I guess I am saying that Angelus would beat Spike in a fight??

The sad thing is that after skimming the thread it seems like everyone pretty much ignored the comment. This makes me sad.

DarkHorse seems to get its ya-yas off by provoking fandom. I am kind of glad I've reached the point that I'm just here for the fic at this point. I still love the shows and the characters, but I refuse to let anyone spoil that for me with this kind of crap.

Also, I seem to have discovered that all the old B/A writers didn't die, they just went to FMA. *hides*Come on hon, you know where by shriveled heart lies, well outside of the threesome, anyway. I need more coffee.

Icons like this really let you appreciate how bad the art really is!

Yes I had seen there was new Alex. I am just dreadfully behind in reading it. I also need to take the time to read your CoE rewrite now that the terror of Holiday is over. Alright so maybe I'll wait until after the 4am starts of inventory next week.

My thoughts exactly.

Hi,

finally got to see the vid this morning at the library - when I tried to stream it here it took over thirty minutes to get to the minute mark, so I decided to give up - and loved it. Doesn't make me want to watch the show, but the fight was fun to watch :-)

But how weird is it that I loved the nut shots the best?

Oh *so* much word. In DW fandom it's currently RTD vs Moffat. ::deep sigh::

Dana would tell you that anything complimentary aimed at Lady Heather (CSI) would get Sara Sidle fans trying to bring Fire and Brinstone down on your head - and not be even remotely kidding about it :- Buffy, "Note to Self. Religion Freaky."

Mmm... got me thinking. Can't imagine she'd be able to have them covered in garlic oil..?
LOL!

And I hope you didn't freeze too badly!

Made me want to go out and get some garlic butter though, and things are finally moving on the house front. I'm with some very good friends at the moment, so at least I have a roof over my head, but it got a wee bit scary for a while around New Years I'll tell ya!

Decided what you're doing with your piccie yet?

Still under Willow & Tara's spell,
Ray.
