Day Fnarg.

My muse returned! \o/ I actually *wrote* stuff last night - specifically the big argument that I know I've needed since I began thinking about how this story would unfold, but that I never quite knew how would work, and now I've got it! (It's a GOOOOOOOD argument, oh yes. It fills me with glee. Just wait!)

Anyway, reading through the first chapter - well the first half of the first chapter, I think I'll have to split it into two it just THAT long - I began to have a definite sense of how to craft it. Not sure that's quite the right term, but I don't know how to explain it - that thing where you look at half-finished stuff and know where you want it to go, and how it'll all hang together. Fixing all the maybes into place. Seeing the statue in the block of marble. That kinda thing. And it's lovely. :)

And just by the way, do other people keep an 'extras' document with all the bits they cut out of their fics - or is that just me? I just hate the idea of losing something that might come in useful later.

My muse returned!

Yay!!!

Oh, it is SUCH a wonderful feeling when something you've been needing to write for a while finally comes together!!!

I know exactly what you mean, and that is a perfect description, and it is lovely indeed!!! I am so glad!!!!

It's not just you - I do that too!!!

I am so glad it is all coming together!!!!!

I do the same when I'm starting off. The short story I'm writing for my best friend is, currently, a page of quotes I might like to use and a few scattered paragraphs.

This time, it's quotes from conversations. This might give you a laugh. I actually had this conversation with someone.

"I was a fine upstanding member of the Guard before you came along and corrupted me!"
"You enjoyed it!"
"That's not the point!"
"It is, live a little."
"What about him? *points at fallen body*"
"He lived a little you should live a lot. Specific enough?"

Well, to an extent. I'm coping... Better. With a lot of saving and some help from my parents, I can afford to visit him. And/or vice versa. I spent last night playing a boardgame with him and slept on a friend's sofa so we could talk a bit, and he's staying with me in my hotel on my last night before I go back to Manila to see me off at 6 in the morning... Something nobody else has ever offered to do. And it means we get to spend more time together. It's just attrocious timing. We discover we're fantastic friends, close as family, so much like each other, and then the night after he tells me he really doesn't want to have to leave Scotland, this bombshell is dropped. I've been on the brink of tears on and off but... I'll live, I guess. It's all I can do. Live, pray for a Christmas miracle, and make the most of the time we do have.

Fantastic icon by the way, I love it. And aye... I suppose it is. It's just that we've both grown, to a point, dependent on each other. It'd be easier to take if it wasn't literally a matter of 7 days guarantee.

It's bad enough I have to be away from my friends between a week tomorrow and February, but I always have the idea that I come back, they'll all be there, it'll be fine again. Jared is my family over here and I'm going back to a family I'm not on the best of terms with and... argh. And I'm leaving Will behind too. As I said - saving to fly to Canada next summer.
