elisi: Edwin holding a tiny snowman (A Christmas Carol (DW) by gillo)

Goodmorning LJ!!!

This is one of the most brilliant things EVER! The background: In November Matt Smith was on Craig Ferguson's show, and Craig had prepared this AWESOME dance which they then couldn't do... (For further explanation see the start of this. For the interview itself, go here.)

ANYWAY, the dance has now been leaked (would have posted this yesterday, except we were at my in-law's most of the day), and I bring it to you. Through the medium of dance and song it perfectly summarises the enduring appeal of Doctor Who and I am seriously considering having 'Intellect and romance triumph over brute force and cynicism' as my tag line! (Plus it has Matt Smith in a hipster shirt, looking about 12! ♥)

That's wonderful; thanks for sharing!

Wow, it's made it to your home already? I'm impressed our postal services have been true to their word and delivered it within 3 days of posting despite the arctic conditions our countries are currently undergoing.

Anyway, you're welcome!

Isn't that awesome?? Several RL friends sent be a that same clip yesterday!

Am I too shallow that one of the things that fascinated me was how young Matt looks there at the end? I mean, i know he's really young. But he plays the doctor so "old" I kinda forget!

though he really should rethink that tshirt...

that was AWESOME! I watched that ep of Craigy and was so sad we didn't get to see the dance and then I forgot all about it. I just wish there had been MORE Matt.

Great clip! Very amusing!

You should absolutely make 'Intellect and romance triumph over brute force and cynicism' your tag line. That would be cool! In fact I think we should ALL make it our personal motto.

That clip is such an earworm.

Damn straight intellect and romance triumph over brute force and cynicism.

Oh, Craig Ferguson, never stop being insane and devastatingly sincere while dancing with a cracked out absurdist hodge-podge of a team.

It just doesn't get old <3

P.S.: Look at what [livejournal.com profile] owlsie made me!!! Muah ha ha ha.

I think this might be why Doctor Who is the best show ever - it dares to be corny and sentimental and believe in the inherent goodness of people.
I'm such a sucker for the "you are going to go be awesome now" speeches. I always feel like Nasreen wanting to clap.

I am way too much in love with that dance for my own good...
There are puppets and rhythmically awkward lyrics and someone dressed as Snookie from The Jersey Shore and yet I feel like punching the air. That is powerful stuff, there.

LOL! That is fantastic!!!
:D *goes off in search of mischief*

It's silly and daft and over the top, and yet it speaks the truth.
Heh. I was just going to slap this rec into a random conversation and not apologize for completely changing topic. But look! Relevance! ^^^^

SHE WRITES CRACK TOO!:

Oooch. At least five year olds are not usually equipped with things like, say, spike heels.

I don't even watch Eleven, but I love Craig Ferguson, and I think this is awesome. May I steal?

Yay! I was very disappointed we didn't get to see their dance on that show.

My favorite part has gotta be that rabbit just -swinging- from side to side.
