Fannish things. :)

[livejournal.com profile] penny_lane_42 has done the most awesome (and PRETTIEST) picspam ever:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Race!Swap Cast

~~~
Also I am currently watching the Sontaran episodes (Donna Donna Donna!!!!) and it is... strange watching Ten. I feel myself going 'Aw, but he's so young!' and having a sudden urge to pet him. (Well he's very pettable, full stop. *g*) But it's interesting how much older Eleven comes across, just in the way he behaves.
*draws hearts around shows*
Ha! Echoing the sentiments of Professor River Song there a bit, no? ;) But I agree, Matt does such small and yet wonderful things that adds so much age to his Doctor, it's incredible. ♥
*nods*
First Doctor who's younger than me, and he's the first one who I believe as being that old...
There are episodes of Ten I got myself through purely by using River's assessment as a mantra: teenager, teenager, teenager, teenager . . . .
Always fascinating to watch, but . . . *grrrrr*
Thanks for the pimp! Yay!
OH DONNA. Eleven does definitely come across as so old, I absolutely adore that Matt Smith is capable of that.
Eleven has become my Doctor and I'm still bitter at Ten for what he did to Donna, so it's been a while since I've watched any of the Ten episodes. But I've been missing Donna and Martha lately, so I'll probably have to revisit....
Eleven is an old man on the run from the old folks' home, skipping through puddles, whistling a daft old childrens' song only he remembers, teaching the kids old games. Basically, he's the "Kick The Can" episode of Twilight Zone.
...or something.
So much Donna Love!!
10 is adorable, and he angsts so beautifully. But 11 has grown on me, he does play "alien" so well. You're right though, he does play "older" than 10. I noticed the same thing!
Huh. Interesting thoughts. Now that I think about it, Eleven is very much like a kid, while Ten is like a hormonal adolescent. This amuses me.
[identity profile] ever-neutral.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! Good point about his dynamic with children. And OMG, I applaud your icon (yet again).
OMG. SO MUCH EXCELLENCE. PERFECTION.
*freaks out some more*
I'm a little boggled at people who CAN'T, to be honest.
Oh, good. I mentioned to my housemate a while ago how much older I think Eleven comes across as than Ten, and she couldn't understand what I was talking about, so it's good to know I'm not alone here. XD
It's not even that I think Ten seems young - and especially not when I go back and watch Five and go, 'WOW, he's so young and innocent' - it's just that Eleven seems really, really old, and Ten... doesn't.
Aww... delayed comments are fine, believe me! <3
Oh, definitely, yeah - I'll see if I can pull anything out when we get to s5, but he's definitely old, and it's brilliant!
tries to bond with Rattingan over their shared cleverness, but Ten comes across more as someone more clever (and thus far more aware of everything, including the price of that gift) than someone old, imparting his wisdom
Yes, exactly! And that's why, I think, Luke does save him in the end - because Ten's been proving his 'worthiness' by being like him (young and clever) rather than unlike him (old and wise), and Luke's been lonely.
(And, oops, I should really leave this till you have time.)
[identity profile] saiyako.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
I'm very much looking forward to your thoughts,
No pressure, then?
and yes, it's absolutely brilliant. Like I say in a comment above, I dearly wish we could get Jenny back, because he is so terribly paternal now. ♥
Oh, I badly want her back! And if we don't get her back, we'll just have to turn to AUs. But then I also want AUs where she travels with Ten and he keeps startling himself with how protective he is.
Oooh, now that's a fantastic insight.
Um. Is it? Thankyou!
Trying to imagine Eleven in that ep, I have a feeling he'd be more 'Well aren't you clever, young man. Crickey, this is all terribly exciting.' and coming across as miles older than Ten, despite the youthful face.
Yes, that's what I was trying to get at exactly - and he'd come off as just a bit patronising/condescending/dismissive in the way that Ten, for once, manages not to, and get Luke offside.
[identity profile] saiyako.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
I believe it comes naturally?
Ah, but now people are expecting me to be brilliant, you see, it's rather scary. XD
Funny, isn't it? Guess it goes to prove Ten teenage-ness. ;)
LOL Yes, I suppose it does.
Thank you - and good luck to you too! XD
