I'm tired, so I ramble...

Very sleepy, but trying to stay awake... until Darcy comes home from work anyway. So I figured I could do a bit of spamming, since I seem to be incapable of commenting on other peoples' posts. But then my brain has turned to mush and I feel like a whale. Only two weeks left until the baby arrives (but Impish Girl was 5 days early...)!

Went shopping last night! :) For a good while now I've been trying to convince Darcy that 'Yes we do need a new pushchair/buggy for the baby'. The old one was chucked in the shed when we moved in two years ago, and well - it's just not all that nice anymore. He tried his best to revive it, but finally gave in and so yesterday afternoon we went round the various baby-places and ended up with this one! :) So I'm very pleased at the moment - especially since my mother has already said that she'll pay for it... so that's one free pushchair! :D

Also spent a good while cleaning the baby bath (another thing that had been stored in the shed), but now it looks as good as new, so that's more money saved. Babies can be very expensive if you're not careful... now all I need is the moses basket I'm borrowing off one of my (RL) friends and the baby can arrive.

But that's probably enough about babies - I have a feeling that only my mother would be interested in all this...

So - [livejournal.com profile] poshcat tagged me for the i • d • i • o • syn • cra • sy meme:
1. A structural or behavioral characteristic peculiar to an individual or group.
2. A physiological or temperamental peculiarity.
3. An unusual individual reaction to food or a drug.
List five of your own idiosyncrasies and then tag five friends to do the same.

It took a while to think up 5 (brain not working, remember) and they're not that exciting I'm afraid:
1) As a child I was impossibly good at saving stuff up. I was very rarely allowed sweets, so once when on holiday I bought a large box of chocolates and proceeded to eat one a day. It lasted more than a month.
2) I *hate* embarrassing situations. Which means that I can't watch f.ex. 'The Office' or 'Alan Partridge'.
3) I can't concentrate on doing artwork if the surroundings are messy and/or noisy. (This doesn't affect my writing abilities at all though, which is why I've done a lot more writing than painting in the last year.)
4) I work out plot points in my head when I'm walking and when I try to go to sleep. If my stories are boring, that's why! ;)
5) I love pretty things, but I'll go with practical/cheap over looks just about every time. Even I don't understand why.

Um, no good at tagging, but I'll try:

What a great picture of Spike. :) It's amazing they can bend that way, isn't it?

I didn't realize you were so close to your delivery date! How exciting! And the stroller looks lovely.

That's a very spiffy stroller. Future baby will look very elegant in it.

The baby stuff is very exciting. I can't believe you're only two weeks away!

Two weeks! I can't believe it's already almost time!

I *hate* embarrassing situations. Which means that I can't watch f.ex. 'The Office' or 'Alan Partridge'

Me neither! I used to chat on a board where we called those "Watch from the hallway moments" - scenes so excrutiatingly embarrassing for the characters that you physically had to leave the room and watch from a distance just in order to separate yourself from what was going on. Dawn humiliating herself in the first half of "Him" is a prime example.

Spike looks like he's trying out new yoga postitions!

Me neither. I'm just about OK with 'Alan Partridge' but 'The Office' makes me cringe. Admittedly that's not entirely due to embarrassment but the fact that it reminds me just a little *too* much of some of my old managers *g*.

Nice stroller.

I wouldn't have thought the position that Spike was in was possible (as Buffy might have said *g*).

Hee! Spike the cat always makes me smile. :)

Upload away! I haven't been able to make many icons recently but I had a great idea for one last night when I was away from the computer, but now I can't remember what it was!

Have a nice weekend yourself.

But then my brain has turned to mush and I feel like a whale.

Poor baby! I remember that stage so well. Pre-partum brain softening ought to be a recognised medical condition.

Love the photo of your Spike!

Stay rested!

Woo-hoo - a new chapter!

What will you do with the little girls when it all starts happening?

Tagged! Tagged! ::runs around while having a brain freeze::

I so totally agree. Walking always, always helps my writing. I can never get enough walking :)
Heee, Spike the cat!
PS I keep meaning to send you an email so shall attempt tonight or tomorrow :)

Um, should I purr or something?
No, put your feet up and have a rest. :)

That is good. Our family was mostly a long way away.

I don't like embarrasing situations, too. I feel twice embarrassed somehow. ;)

And as everyone else in this thread, I will add: OMG! Two weeks to delivery! How are your girls about arrival of a new baby?

As the Americans say, from your mouth to God's ear!

I have a feeling that they're both going to want to 'mother' the baby. :)

My 21old sister is still my baby. ;)
