Sorry, can't think of anything to write here...
Hello everyone... ::waves tiredly::
So how have you all been? I've skimmed my flist, but I'm not really feeling up to commenting on anything - I think I suffer from comment-burn-out! (Is that a word?) Monday was my
summer_of_spike day, and I was thanking my lucky stars that it was the holidays. 8 posts in one day? Hereby not recommended! Especially when your internet connection dies at 9pm with two chapters still to post... thank goodness it came back!
What made it easier though was my much loved s-i-l! She called up Monday afternoon and asked if the girls would like to come and sleep over! Which *of course* they did! ::loves family-in-law:: So Darcy and I had a very nice and quiet evening. He's still not feeling brilliant (although he went to the doctor and found out that he had an infection and got some antibiotics, so he's on the mend now), so there was no candle-lit dinner or anything like that - just vegging out in front of the telly. And - because of no children and peace and quiet - he said: "Let's watch Buffy!" So we did! :) It's been a long time since we've seen Season 5, so we watched the first 3 episodes of that - which reminded me that I have somewhere some thoughts on 'Buffy vs. Dracula' that I never finished writing... *sigh* Anyway, Darcy refers to Riley as 'that boring guy' which thrills me no end! ;)
Went to bed rather late - what with delayed posting and telly-watching (also caught 'Blackadder II' - yay!) - but there were NO children shouting in the night! And NO children needing looking after in the morning! I can't actually remember *ever* having a quieter morning. Made myself some breakfast and then sat down to answer comments... of which there were huge, enormous, incredible amounts!!!! If feedback is the food of fic writers, then I am currently stuffed - crammed full to overflowing! :) I was especially surprised at all the comments to the individual chapters. I didn't expect that. But it was oh so lovely! ::happy sigh:: And I was so worried that people wouldn't want to read a long fic! Many, many, many thank you's to everyone yet again - you made me practically incoherent with delight! ::hugs you all::
But that wasn't all - at around lunchtime Darcy gave me a lift to the train station where I was meeting my old friend C. Now C and I used to be neighbours when we were children, which was a very fortunate co-incidence in that we were both Danish, growing up in the Faroes. And although we moved around a great deal (even when younger) we always kept contact (also our parents were good friends, which helped). She's currently studying medicine in Copenhagen, so it's been a while since I last saw her, but - by another extraordinary co-incidence - she now has a boyfriend from West Yorkshire, which is where I live! So she's been here meeting his family and thought it'd be nice seeing me too! :) Had a lovely afternoon chatting (she's also the only one of my RL friends who's familiar with Buffy and last time we met - a year ago - we shared a 'Isn't Spike cool?' moment!) and I really hoping she'll come back soon. It's nice seeing RL friends who live far away.
So I've not had much time for LJ I'm afraid... feeling very sleepy at the moment, but will do my best to write a bit... although I'll have to think of something to do with the children too! Hmmm, maybe I should just get some lunch first? Should probably also mention that on Monday I managed to tidy pretty much the whole house... the office is still a tip, but apart from that? Tidy! Which makes me very happy indeed! :)
Sorry this was probably incredibly boring. Hope you're all OK!

I think I remember you talking about C before, so I'm glad that you caught up with her.
And so many congrats on the fic - it was a stellar, intriguing idea and of course everyone enjoyed it! :)

You just summed up my entire post in aone sentence. Why didn't I write it like that?
Will pass on well wishes - he's better, but not well poor guy!
I might have mentioned C... oh, and I forgot to say that she and boyfriend met in New Zealand! :)
::blushes from praise::

You didn't! So they have to go all the way over to the other side of the world too ;)

Wonderful SiL knowing that you need quiet. They can be very useful - mine is currently making sure that D-d's trip to Australia is more exciting than if she did everything with her grandparents. I am going to thank her by sending flowers - Australia Interflora on line is wonderful - and they also do chocolates!
Lovely to get time with an old friend as well - I am heading off to Skye to do just that in a couple of days time, and it is a lovely thing to look forward to. Hopefully C will stick with the Yorkshireman and become a regular visitor for years to come!!
This is the time to find things you can do with the girls where they get busy, and you sit around and watch them burn off energy! And if it rains, making fairy cakes, or playing with pastry is always good!
You being tidy in your condition makes me guilty!!

I lve her to itty-bitty pieces. And she's only 17! But wonderfully mature for her age (apart from having a clothes addiction of course!).

We're crossing out fingers! But it *does* seem like she's viewing the relationship as very much long-term, so I'm very optimistic!

Heh. My philosophy in a nut-shell! Not a day goes by where I'm not thankful for our garden!
And the tidiness... well I have this insane idea that I can get the house completely sorted before the baby arrives. And the sudden outburst was partly because I knew C was coming, and partly because we had a 'fire-inspection' Monday afternoon. Very good idea, btw. you get firemen to look around your house and point out potential hazards and checking your alarms (one didn't work and they gave us a new one - free! :)

It's nice to have been able to catch up with your friend for a lovely afternoon chatting. I have a very dear friend ( my best friend in fact) that i've met when we were fourteen , but I don't see her as often as I would like( She lives in the little town where I grew up )

Hope your husband feels better soon , it's never pleasant to be ill in summer time. Do you plan on going somewhere for the holidays?
I'm on my own for two days , since Mr.Jamalov is in a business trip in Italy , Alexander is still in the country with my parents , and my elder son gabriel is with his girlfriend at the beach until Saturday.
So yesterday I could write and write and write.. nobody to bother me! ;)
*hugs you*

We will be going away to Wales on Sunday - for a week. So I'll get even further behind on LJ... but at least I might have something fun to write about when I come back! :)

Sounds like heaven. I have managed to finish the next chapter of 'Maybe Someday', but that's all. But I'm beginning to see the end, so I'm optimistic!
*hugs you back*

It sounds as though you had a wonderful, *relaxing* time.

Hee - please do! I love that film! And she's definitely a keeper - having family in town is a continued blessing. :)
There can *never* be enough relaxing!

Everyone seems to have gone on holiday, which does make keeping up easier. I just wish I could wake up properly.
