A brief hello!

It is a BEAUTIFULLY sunny day today, and I have parents visiting (for... a while. So you won't be seeing me much) - but I thought I'd give you a couple of links:

Politics
Compare Political Parties - this is a brilliant site! Choose which parties you want to compare (up to 6 at a time), and see what their different policies are. Easy and straightforward. (Make sure to add The Monster Raving Loony Party, because laughter is always good!)

Doctor Who
Eleventh Doctor - generic or iconic? Brilliant (and commendably short) meta on how and why Eleven differs so much from Ten. I cannot recommend this enough!

PS I just finally started Dr Who series 4 last week. I LOVE IT. I am so sad to know that Ten is gone now. I know I will love the new guy, I always do, but I am very sad to lose Ten.

PS I just finally started Dr Who series 4 last week. I LOVE IT.
Squee! S4 is probably my favourite Tennant season - Martha was awesome, and the Master was fab, but the Doctor and Donna together are just pure gold! I ♥ them to infinity!

I am so sad to know that Ten is gone now. I know I will love the new guy, I always do, but I am very sad to lose Ten.
Oh ELeven is fabulous - and very, very different, which helps, and I love him to pieces - but Ten is *my* Doctor. :)

I have always considered Four "my" Doctor. I grew up watching him and he was the only Doctor I ever watched until several months ago when I borrowed the new series with Nine. I loved Nine. I was surprised by that. And when he left, and was replaced with Ten, I thought I would only love Nine and that I would resent Ten. But Ten has been so fabulous. I think that Ten is "my" Doctor too. He has brought so much to the role. I want to say no one could ever be better. but I thought that about Four and I came very close to thinking that about Nine. So, I am sure that when i finally get the chance to experience Eleven, I will adore him too. I must just be a Doctor Who Whore.

(You make me want to go back and watch some Doctor-Donna stories... oh they are so awesome it's almost criminal. Oh! Have you seen the Never Mind The Buzzcocks Christmas Special with David Tennant and Catherine Tate? It's made of too much win for words! (Link goes to part one.) Also, hysterically funny. No spoilers I think, it's just a quiz show.)

As for the link about Eleven, I think it all depends on how you think of the Doctor. For me, he is my viewpoint character. He's the center of the story and the one I care about the most. I've enjoyed companions and loved them as well, but I'm ALL ABOUT THE DOCTOR. Which may be why I loved Ten so much and am feeling a bit distant from Eleven. He's the Doctor but, besides that, I don't know too much about who he is.

My 8 y.o. tells me I HAVE to vote for them, because they want to abolish homework! :)

Oh Lord, me too. I still remember watching 'Rose', and mentally tapping my fingers and going 'Well this girl is lovely, but I was promised an alien! Heh.

Oh I get that. But that's actually part of what I like about Eleven - he's unpredictable, and quite mysterious. And I'm all intrigued. *hugs poor Ten*
