Being Human 2.2
OMG this show! *does flaily hand thing*
I love how they get so many things spot-on. Like starting an episode with having a gorgeous, shirtless vampire tied to a chair...

There is no wrong.
Although this episode just kept bringing the awesome!
Love the slowly developing relationship between Mitchell and the female doctor (what is her name? I've obviously blanked it out). It feels very real, and nicely tentative, and the way it melded into the overall storyline was beautifully done. Which leads me to another point - I love the vampires, and how their world is beginning to be fleshed out. And the fact that Mitchell is still very much a part of it - his choice to stay 'clean' is a personal one, and he is very keen to uphold the status quo.
I think this is something very important - this show is miles and miles from BtVS/AtS: The characters are not heroes. There are no destinies, no prophecies, no grand dreams about trying to save the world. They just want to be left alone to live their lives.
Which brings me to Nina, and her very understandable reaction to seeing what their 'normal' lives cost them, and the compromises they accept. (Seriously, this show is so well written!)
Also love how they're developing Ivan. He's not Spike after all, more Capt. John (if we stay with the JM characters. *g*) His confrontation with George was well done - and the Kate Bush tape was inspired! :) (That said, I thought the whole 'If we're exposed everyone will turn super-religious and bigoted' was pretty far-fetched, but I'll forgive the guy since he's old and Irish.)
Oh - and the George & Mitchell scene was brilliant. The whole 'Yes I've lived with other people! I didn't spend a hundred years waiting for you and your three different brands of upholstery cleaner!' was absolutely priceless!
But - I've yet to mention the bit that just made me flail incoherently... TERRY WOGAN OMFG!!!! I could kiss the BBC. That part was just *fantastic* and gorgeously creepy and now my heart *aches* for poor Annie. (I shall tiptoe around any possible race!fail etc. and leave that to other people to suss out.)
Anyway, I must run, even though there is SO MUCH MORE I could talk about. *draws hearts*

Well, sure. Everybody knows that if vampires are exposed, everyone in the entire world will think they're cool and give them their own talkshows. ;-)

I have no idea who Terry Wogan is so I can't share your squee. ;-)
And I don't get where 'racefail' comes into the equation either.
I do love this show, too. It is so well done.

Certain parts definitely could, but recruiting people based on nothing but fear never works out very well. I'm sure there'd be public fear and panic etc., but I'm not sure it'd turn specifically religious. (ETA: Also I guess I dislike having my faith turned into a bogey man. I can understand where that comes from, I just wish it wasn't so crudely done.)

He's been around FOREVER (his wiki page here), and is a national institution.

Violent black guy? I'm very unsure about all this (so not my ism), but it made me somewhat concerned.

It is pure joy to watch. ♥

He was a guy. Being driven crazy by the men on his tv/in his mind. And in the end, he went out a hero by letting Annie go and walking into the corridor himself. Why should the character have been put in cotton bunting because the actor was a man of color? Would you have the same reservations if the character had been Irish?

Also, his old friend was a great idea on Toby Whitehouse's part; it makes sense that there would be vampires who went "clean" before, and also that sometimes, they'd fall of the wagon.
'Yes I've lived with other people! I didn't spend a hundred years waiting for you and your three different brands of upholstery cleaner!'
Would it be very wrong to wonder if someone will make an icon of the "as opposed to what?" scene between the Doctor and Rose in School Reunion using this quote? (Toby Whitehouse connection, totally on topic, me!)
I must confess I have no idea who Terry Wogan is. I mean, from the context it was clear he was someone British tv viewers would recognize on sight, but... Pray enlighten me?
I may have gurgled when Ivan put on Wuthering Heights in the car.

I commented somewhere else that Being Human makes them look like shows suitable for CBeebies. This is a very grown-up series and getting darker with each episode.

LOL! (I'm sure Kathy will oblige if you ask nicely. *g*)

I am VERY excited about the line up for Season Fnarg! :)

Wiki page here. Bascially the grand old man of British Broadcasting. Like Letterman I guess? *is unfamiliar with German TV presenters and thus reaches for US example*

Hee! This show is made of so much win! :)

It really, really was.
What about Hugh's Oz-moment, wanting Annie to kiss him because she wanted to kiss him?
I was going to mention that!!! (And of course it's hopelessly tragic because she is *dead* and can't ever have him.)
And Annie fighting away from the door? And when she went back into the pub?
I knew they were setting her up for major angst, what with all the bubbly happiness, but it still hurt. *hugs poor Annie*

*snerk* My first thought was actually that Being Human is like the opposite of Doctor Who - I love DW for playing with the concepts of godhood and power, but I also love Being Human for doing something vastly different.
This is a very grown-up series and getting darker with each episode.
*nods* And no one is coming to save them.

Yes, Ivan was great, and Nina's way of approaching everything thrown at her was brilliantly written - and well acted.
Terry Wogan was certainly a brilliant shock!
Brilliant show!

I love it when supernatural things feel more real than real! :)
Yes, Ivan was great,
I thought they'd probably flesh him out, so I was happy to be right!

And she's definitely got a point.
Terry Wogan was certainly a brilliant shock!
No wonder poor Saul freaked out. *is still a-flail*
Brilliant show!

I loved the Saul/Annie scenes, especially the hospital fight and the music.
I loved the Ivan/George scne. And Kate Bush!!!!
Mitchell/female doctor is nicely done but I keep being distracted by the fact the actress played Cleopatra in "Rome".
Poor Nina, and poor Annie. :-(

*nods* The first one was necessary to set things up (and help new fans understand things), but this one was all go!
I loved the Saul/Annie scenes, especially the hospital fight and the music.
I'm going to have to re-watch it all I think...
I loved the Ivan/George scne. And Kate Bush!!!!
Kate Bush was a masterstroke! *g* And it's nice that Ivan isn't one dimensional.
Mitchell/female doctor is nicely done but I keep being distracted by the fact the actress played Cleopatra in "Rome".
I've didn't watch Rome, but I'm sure I've seen her in something else - she has a very familiar face!
Poor Nina, and poor Annie. :-(
I know! *hugs them both*
