ETA: This is the best article I've yet read on MJ's death. (Not that I've read many, but this one is pretty spot-on. 'The songs remind us of ourselves--this is why they are important.')
Perfect cartoon. I just pointed it out to S2C who hadn't looked as his FL yet, and then I said that actually they had just had an interview on BBC news which went 'here we have someone who knew Michael Jackson well. XX - you were his publicist in the late 70s and early 80s, what was he like?'
S2C said 'Black. Which may come as a surprise to some of his more recent fans. Black, with a rounded nose and curly hair...'
Then we had 'Last night Bruce Springsteen played Glastonbury for the first time ever. But for a lot of people the big news is still that Michael Jackson is dead.' Possibly - but for the people at the Bruce Springsteen gig it was a minor item of little importance compared with OMG! It's BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN!!' I'd have been with the second bunch.
