Fic: Mrs Saxon's Diary. Part 2/?
Look - fic! OK, so this is the slowest WIP ever (or something), but I suddenly decided that I really ought to finish it, since I have lots of bits and pieces half-written (this part only just over 300 words). Hope all 3 of my readers enjoy! *g*
Fandom: Doctor Who
Setting: Around 18 months pre-'Sound of Drums'
Spoilers: End of S3.
Pairing: Lucy/Harry.
Rating: PG.
Part 1 here. Oh and feedback would probably make me explode with joy!
Mrs Saxon's diary. Part 2
He’s an alien.
No, that sounds all wrong. Like he’s got green tentacles hidden somewhere. When in fact what it means is that he’s... more than human. A Timelord he said, from a faraway planet. And his name is the Master.
I asked him about his human name - why Saxon? He smiled and said that he liked the Saxons, all that burning and pillaging was brilliant. “I’d show you if I could, trust me...”
Then there came a strange look over his face, and he reached out, gently touching my temples and closing his eyes. “Just a moment Lucy...”
And then I could sense him... inside my head. “Look,” he whispered, and suddenly I saw wild hordes in primitive garb - behind them a whole village in flames and people feeling in terror.
I gasped and opened my eyes. Harry looked at me, grinning widely. “Of course the name also gives people a feeling that I’m as British as the Queen. Moreso actually.”
“But... but how did you... were those...”
I could barely form a sentence.
“I was there,” he replied - and I believed him.
“But how?” I asked, holding a hand up to my head, still shaken. But he just shrugged.
“Oh mind reading and such is very simple - elementary even. I could show you more if you like? The Romans were fun - see they had the right idea with their Empire. I like the Vikings too. So much destruction...”
Then he sighed. “I miss time travel.”
And he looked genuinely sad. Then he met my eyes, determined.
“One day Lucy, I’ll show it all to you for real, trust me!”
I know I probably ought to stop seeing him, because he unsettles me more than I can describe. But instead I’ve invited him round for dinner tonight so he can meet my father. Clearly I am insane, and yet... and yet... how can I walk away?

Squee! Feedback! And I *love* writing disturbing stuff. Maybe I should be worried...
Good look at what might motivate Lucy-- she's one of those characters who needs that explanation, too!
Thank you! She intrigues me - because she clearly chose to The Master's side of her own free will. Making up a story of how he made her do that is wonderful - will try to write it quickly.

Damn you, you're making think about the psychology of characters in the whoniverse when I should be getting ready for bed! :D

Oh no, I always thought that there must be more to it than that ("A Timelord and his human Companion..."), esp. given her name.

Hee! Sorry. Happy dreams! :)
