DW 4.09 Forest of the Dead :D :D

He snapped his fingers and the TARDIS opened!!!!!!! I need an icon so badly I might break something.

I am not sure I can be coherent, but let me try. No deep thoughts though.

First of all, then I loved how well written it all was. The girl, The Library, the Vashta Nerada etc. - it all made sense and wrapped up *beautifully*.

Will Donna get a happy ending? I really hope so, although she will probably do something spectacular first. I think what I love most about her and the Doctor is that she really is a *mate*, just like he wanted. I adore their vibe.

And River Song... Darcy wasn’t all that keen (“He could have had Billie Piper - I mean not that this woman’s ugly or anything, but...”) Heh. The thing with his name makes me very happy (anything secret & Timelordy makes me happy), and no I don’t think it’s a sign that they had sex. (I mean maybe they did, maybe he really *does* marry her, but that’s another question entirely.) It’s the way she apologises before telling him - I think only something horribly traumatic and painful could ever bring it out.

(Darcy btw also thought that the ep redeemed itself by having a good explanation for why he gave her the screwdriver - he’s clearly not the shippy type!)

Anyway, lots and lots of gorgeous inter-episode continuity, and also over the series. Moffat said in the Confidential that in his mind, River’s sonic blaster (‘the square gun’ they all called it) was Jack’s, that he of course left in the TARDIS, and River found. I love this too much for words.

And of course the scene with the Vashta Nerada and the Doctor, where he tells them to look him up - and they retreat! *wibbles* That’s my Doctor! (“What do monsters have nightmares about?” “Me!”/"That place was flooding and burning and they were dying and you were stood there like... I don't know... a stranger."/"He was being kind.")

And the finger snapping!!!! (I know, I mentioned it already, but oh! It makes me drown in squee.)

::deeeeeeeeep happy sigh::

Did I mention that I LOVE my show?

Oh and it totally confirmed my thoughts on the season theme, which also makes me happy. :)

ETA: Last week Darcy mentioned how he rather liked the ep, and I told him that Moffat was going to take over. This was his response: "Good. Less gay and more scary!"

Anyway, here’s John Barrowman singing ‘Anything Goes’ - how can anyone not adore this man? *profound love*

Joining you in incoherent squee.

"It works in the dark. It's a screwdriver." Or WTTE. I loved it too - beautifully scary, with all sorts of extra bits. Will we see Donna's soulmate again, I wonder? The stammer was a stroke of genius, I thought.

Lovely, lovely show. Oh yes, it is
so
safe in SM's hands!

LOL. J's happy too as he thinks Moffat's a better writer than RTD, as do I.

I loved it too and the Doctor telling the Vashta Narada to look him up was awesome, as was the finger snapping.

"Don't play games with me. You just killed someone I liked, that is not a safe place to stand. I'm the Doctor and you're in the biggest library in the universe - look me up!"

Holy moly.
