Too much.
I'm in fannish overload I think. First the Torchwood finale, then this morning AtF #6 arrived, and then new Doctor Who tonight. I don't know how to process it all. Oh and my Jack-is-The-Immortal fic is eating my head, and I am trying to write it, but I have so little time. (I wrote the prologue, but I'm starting again because it was rubbish. Well mostly. ::is frustrated::)
Anyway, I don't really have *thoughts* on the Torchwood finale yet. But I was reminded of something. What came to mind was this scene from 'To The Last Man':
INT. HUB – JACK’S OFFICE – DAY
(Gwen and Ianto look at an old slide of Gerald and Harriet standing in the hub under the TORCHWOOD sign.)
GWEN: He's a bit of all right.
IANTO: He's the boss.
GWEN: Nothing changes.
(They look at each other and laugh a little.)
IANTO: She's all right, too. Harriet Derbyshire.
GWEN: I wonder what happened to her.
IANTO: She died the year after that was taken. Twenty-six years old.
GWEN: So young.
IANTO: They all were. (He picks up another slide with five people in it.) Nothing changes.
(Gwen gets up and heads out of the office.)
IANTO: Where are you going?
GWEN: St. Teilo's Hospital. And bloody cheer up, will you?
Working for Torchwood is dangerous. Gwen knows this, but Ianto understands it - I'm kinda struggling to explain what I mean, but Ianto's already been there. He saw Torchwood London destroyed, and lost all of the people he knew - when he asks Jack what he's supposed to do with his memories, I think he's being absolutely genuine. They see death every day, but it is different when its personal. (I hope that makes sense. My brain hasn't woken up.)
Anyway, I love this macro. They are just such a wonderful trio, and I think they're very much my OT3 (although Gwen can't join in the sex, of course) - they all compliment each other so well, and they all get along so well. I love the writers for how the interplay between them has been handled.
I can't really talk about Tosh or Owen yet. This says it all. *sniffle*
ETA: Also I adore this: Morgue Stock Take (from the BBC's site). My show - how I love you.
